probably you can check the parts list but the length of shock shafts might be different

And that means that they are the same as the Stampede shocks, too. Long in the front and XX-Long in the rear.

Are the Bandit shocks also the same? Seems I've only seen two different lengths of ultra shocks

Bandit shock are the same but they use a shorter shaft on the rear shock.
The rustlers are the same and have the same xxl shaft as the slash but it has a stop spacer under the valving disc to reduce the amount of drop

I just mounted the Traxxas big bore shocks on my Slash today, had to use the stock spring retainers for them as the new ones wouldn't hold the springs right. Long in front, XX long in the rear, they feel better already.

The only difference is the multirate springs. I've got some coming from hot racing for the slash and the pede. I just put my pede big bores on the slash in the mean time.

according to traxxas specs it says it uses xx-long shocks and it would be pointless to put a shorter shaft on it if they can just use their x-long shock. i could be wrong tho

The XL-5 Bandit parts list has part number 2765 (x-long) for the rear.
