    vxl with talons gearing

    hello.
next week i will receive my vxl kit and some talons 2.8 too.
what is the best gearing for that setup without heating a lot the esc or the motor?
i will do bashing and track too and this using 3s 4500mah lipo.

    regards

I'd stay with the stock gearing or even lower....since the talons expand, it's like gearing up.

    This vid:

    ...is 23/86 gearing, talons, & 8000mah 3s lipo.

This set up rocks on all surfaces!

With Talons on a slash, How much tire rubbing do you have on the chassis?

I have the 2.8 Talon Rear tires all around and you get quite a bit of rubbing even after you trim the body. They still work though and they give you a lot more traction. Mine still just spin on pavement, I dont get when I see guys with BL Slash's running stock tires popping wheelies on pavement, mine just spin.
Rustler VXL, all FLM and RPM!

I have not seen a Slash do a wheelie with the VXL system and stock tires. The tires just spin.

Absolutely no rubbing on the chassis and as long as you run the Talon rears (narrow) there is only minimal body rubbing after a bit of trimming *AND* adding the spacers included with the Slash in the shocks to stiffen the suspension...THEN you won't rub at *all*...that's how I have mine set up in the vid.

Adding the VXL system to the Slash would make it wheelie when I was on a *high* traction surface...other than that I'd spin like everyone else.

Add the talons and you have to have throttle control so you don't wheelie *all* the time....

...wow...could I have used any more *s in this post...? haha

You need to see my slash then. My wheelys on demand. If you have good traction, it will wheely (3s Lipo here) You can counter wheelys somewhat, by softening the rear springs.

Come over tomorrow and I'll show you one that can wheelie the full length of my street

It is all in the rear suspension.
