Yet another brake question, sorry
I know there are brake mods and tips all over the forum but I haven't been able to find what I am looking for........
Are there any brake shoes that would improve the Jato's stopping capability? I have tried the stock and carbon disk and although the carbon has made a difference I am still not happy with its performance. I am yet to try the graphite as it is out of stock so I started thinking is it possible to replace or mod the shoe's. In another forum a guy said he was going to try gluing some rubber on the insides of the shoe to see if that would improve things, has anybody tried that and had success?
I have been looking around the net and found some shoes for another model which do look similar to the Jato's, I think it was a Tmaxx, not 100% sure. The thing that caught my eye was they are steel or alloy with a fibre insert. To me that suggests it may offer a bit more grip on the disk than say a straight untreated shoe. I am guessing it wouldn't be a direct replacement so, does the size and shape of the shoe matter? My theory is, if it is bigger I may be able to cut it down a bit with a Dremmel and drill a couple of new holes to fit the existing mount. What do you think?
