    Slow Slash ??

Took my new slash out for the 1st time today, I am rather dissapointed with the speed. I am running 6 cell 4350 NI-MH batteries. and it is not in "training mode"
What is the cheapest way to get more speed out of it ?
    Regards JOHN.

Use the 23 T spur for more speed. The VXL gives the Slash some decent speed.

How about a Team Orion 17t Pro BB? I have the 15t and it almost doubles the speed.

I know folks in the Ruslter forum have been very pleased with this 2S lipo. It WILL give you a lot more performance, and likely triple or more run time you're seeing now.

I wasn't impressed on my first run either. It was fine for my little backyard but not impressive. Second run was awesome!!! Got to looking... and low and behold one of the cells in the battery burned up! Wish I could find the little sucker to post a picture though. That's the first time in 20 some odd years or rc that I've seen that!

Ya, powerhobby2 still hasnt even gave me feedback yet! I contacted ebay about the feedback but I did get a shipping confirmation on the 27th of August. But the shipping confirmation also said this:
Please note that your item can take 14-21 days or more for delivery. Some times package is held in customs, so please understand.

I'm hoping that it don't take that long!
I also have to send back my 4 promatch batteries cuz all 4 are junk! They all have 1 or 2 bad cells in them, I'm gonna get 4 matched packs instead!
Rustler VXL, all FLM and RPM!

The XL-5 has a 15-turn 540 motor limit, so yes, it will work. These motors run great on six cells, but motor wear, heat, etc. start to increase quickly once you start going higher than that.

I wasn't all that impressed with it either. But Traxxas has to keep the price down some how. That's how RC maufacturers get you though. You could put the 23T pinion and get a little more speed, but you'll shorten the life of that motor when you're back and forth at WOT. You could get a modified 540 brushed motor which has a typical life span of 2 to 3 hours cumulative running before a rebuild. Or you can get on fleabay and land a VXL brushless for $129 and be done with it. You'll save yourself some money in the long run.
