Will these two Pinion Gears fit

I have 2 pinion gears 17t and 10t from other rc's could I still use them on the slash or do I have to buy one for that motor

if they r 48 pitch they should mesh. just watch temps! my 16t gives really good acceleration, but top end suffers. don`t really know if 10t will be too small or not.

not really. i think he means to slide the pinions onto the motor, while installed, to see if they mesh with the spur gears.

The easiest way to tell if the gear is a 48-pitch gear is to simply compare it to the factory spur or pinion gear.

There would be a slight difference between a 18 and a 17 tooth gear... not huge, but it should be noticeable.

See if the teeth are different sizes, like this

    Incorrect:

    Correct:

Notice the teeth on the first one are larger, and shaped differently.

They are both 22 tooth gears, but the top one is 32 pitch, making it uncompatible with the Traxxas spurs.
