Getting new motor what gearing would be good?

Getting a Team Orion Formula SV2 Pro BB 17x2 what would be a good gearing for it or should I keep at 18x86t(stock)

I'd install a 15-tooth pinion gear too see how that goes. The factory gearing will likely be too tall with that motor.

the 90T spur works well with the Orion motor's (16T pin) the temps were too high with the 86T and I smoked my first Orion .

I'm using a 16/90 combo with my 15x2 orion, so far so good.

How hot are these motors getting at 16/90? I tried a Komodo 19 T Spec at 13/86 (which is geared lower than 16/90) and the motor gets to 180 (using a Venom Temp guage with the sensor on the motor can, gives a max and min reading during a run)

Well mine is at 152-154 after 10-12 mins of runtime. Which I think is ok. Feels quicker than my titan with a 23/86 combo.

It's better than 18/86, I guess use a temp gun to check temps.
