1512 sized, the 2d. Shorter, less torque, but still a great motor- aimed at 1/8 buggies and truggies, but would do well in a stock emaxx/erevo as a more powerful version of the hvmaxx motor... much more powerful.

I thought it was a 1512/1y...
The normal neu 1512 2d is 2550kv
and the neu 1512 1y is 2750kv
so its one of the two...
it think your right...they probably just rounded up...
be nice.
Yeah, seems to fall inbetween the two ratings of the proper neus. I dont think you could call it by the number of winds really, just use the size (1512 or 1515) and the kv rating- why Neu didnt follow feigaos example I dont know, makes understanding the ratings impossible without visiting their site or the Calculator.

am i right in thinking the other one is just a standard 1515/1y but only in green? or does it have any bonus features like the tekno-rc version?

Where have you been the last 6 months?
There have been numerous threads and posts about the motors, made by the CEO of castle himself.
Basically:
Chinese made - based on the NEU design (liscensed from neu).
Same magnet as the neus
USA steel shaft
Sealed can, similar to the teknorc neu, only green.
Flat spot on shaft, pre-wired with motor leads and bullets to match the esc.
Hand wound windings.
Only real difference is the rotor (magnet) isnt wrapped in carbonfibre- a feature of the neus to prevent the magnet from splitting. I wouldnt worry about that though, very rare occurance- the feigaos are well known for it though (cheap motors = cheap quality).
They will do fine- and only about $100-110 or so.

should i worry about it not being wrapped in CF if im gonna be running 6s? (50000RPM)

No one really knows because no one has driven one, but CC will have some sort of warranty on their motor, like Neumotors have. I dont know what you do with a Feigao if it breaks, I assume you throw it out... or make a refrigerator magnet with the rotor like Neil.
i agree with jayjay here. If you're within your motors limits (60k for the CCNeu) than CC will cover it.
be nice.
Are you sure they have hand-wound windings? I thought there was something with the way Neus were wound that they had to be hand wound (or are they using a different wind that can be done with a machine?).Originally Posted by Suicideneil

First of all, the Castle Neu motors are not yet in production -- we are still hammering out some production issues (mostly magnet procurement...)
Second, the Castle Neu motor is hand wound. I don't believe you can machine wind the Neu design (it's an internal wind -- can't be wound on a fly winder.)
Third, it does run at pretty much the same efficiency as the original Neu -- it is exactly the same design, except for the carbon winding on the rotor, and case and bearings (heavier case, larger bearings.)
Thanx!
