I've always thought "V-twin" is the dorkiest sounding name ever.
Why not just call it a dual motor setup?
I've never once heard of it called "Twin Titan."

my reason for going erevo is cause i can setup two neu's as opposed to only one on my rusty... actually will get a xl3100 for my street rusty here pretty soon. my revo project comes first before i buy that... its gonna be an expensive project... and im starting it on the 15th, 2 days from now

it's a parallel harness that plugs from the escs to the batteries to allow for equal battery drain.

FYI a Mamba Max esc w/ BEC wired for a 4s lipo config and a Medusa 60mm v2 2000kv motor will be BETTER and cheaper than a 'V-Twin' and cost less to boot..
The erevo's are awesome, I predict your Rusty will make a nice door stop![]()

people like the rustlers for different reasons....my e-revo can't touch my rusty in a drag race. Not a chance. My rustler is also alot easier to work on.Originally Posted by 1fasterevo

you gotta admit, it's not easy by any means to get the e-revo or maxx to go the 65-70mph range....controller problems usually occur, you have to have some really good packs, 5mm pinions that cost upwards of $12 a pop, $150-300 motors......i see more posts about people having their systems serviced and waiting on replacements than i do about cool videos or crazy speed runs or awsome bashing sessions.
i hope very soon, that won't be the case, but as it stands right now, my door stop is alot more fun than my e-revo that's waiting on a yet another service warranty.![]()

Dual Bl is not for the faint of heart, or short of patience type of people, lol. When its works, it works awesomely, When it goes wrong, it can do so in spectacular fashion.

I can attest to this. But I am probably gonna go that route when I get my replacement e-revo and do it right with the servo synchronizer, between that and the unslow harness it should be a little more user friendly.
I would think that if you were crusing for a system that is less problematic, you would be staying away from a dual brushless system.Originally Posted by vxlrocket

but who knows?!? I'd love to see you post back here in a month or so and tell me I'm wrong! I'm always looking for better systems. Maybe you have the right idea here...
be nice.
This might be obvious, but to me it seems the missing link is the esc in getting a system that is relatively dependable. If the MMM were available, I would already have one. But in my mind, the fact its taking this long for castle to make them available means that this is turning out to be more of a challenge than they anticipated.
I agree that castle had a rocky start to the MMM. But I have run the MMM V2 in my e-revo for the last few days now. The ESC now has a feature that the fan does not turn on until it hits 150F. I have had my batteries at 130F and my Tekno Neu 1515/1Y Hit 200F yesterday. So far, I cant get the fan on the MMM to turn on for more than a couple minutes. In fact, by the time I get the body off the Revo to check temps, the fan has, most times, already shut off. I have TRIED to shake this thing and it just keeps on jammin'. It is by far the toughest electronic component in my system right now. I have run 6S as well as 4S through it, doing hard starts and full stops...nothin'.Originally Posted by fmj40
My next test will be running with the drag brake on, maybe that will heat it up.
anyway, it shouldnt be long before castle starts flooding the market with these. I, for one, highly recommend picking one up.
be nice.

Not true.. other than the MMM woes.. watch my vidsOriginally Posted by vxlrocket
I'm not sure how you call making speeds passes loads of fun, I mean sure it's great for a few days, but that gets old quick and sessions get boring after a single pack. I guess if all you do is drag race with a bunch of friends in a parking lot I could see it but other than that a 40mph erevo would be 100x more fun than a 70mph rusty (ps as far as lipo's go you need to just double up what you need for your rusty to hit those speeds).
*funny enough I just parted out my Rusty.. LOL it did nothing but collect dust.

even on a 6s i have yet to see one e-revo break 70mph...if there is, show me, i can certainly admit i could be mistaken. I've seen first hand their top speed is roughly 65.
it depends how you drive, but if you can compare an e-revo to a rusty in durability, then you should compare it to your FLM....and i KNOW how durable those are...i had mine hit at 65mph by a 1:1 car and didn't bend or break a single FLM part. the esc, mip cvds, wheelie bar and wheels were busted, but the roller was fine.Originally Posted by 1fasterevo

...and most of my point. the technology is there for motors and batteries, but until the escs catch up, there are alot of maxx's and revo's just sitting, waiting for the progress to catch up.
I have 7 rustlers...all do different things...from flms to bashers and drag racers to a carpet racer and an off-road racer, they all serve their purpose and do it well.
When you were running rustys, you were one of the biggest vlx advocates when they were getting bashed in the rusty forum because you were saying they were standing firm in every one of your vehicles. well, they have had issues, but they are well in front of most of them by my view as of now. Time will tell about the big escs.
i hope your right...i'm sick of waiting to find out.

Yes, of course. That's exactly what I was getting at. My question in quotes was intended as a response to the thread title, just as yours was.Originally Posted by vashon10
Still, all things considered, compared to some of the grammatical atrocities committed on these forums, this one was just a blip on the radar. That's why I even responded in the first place - when I can barely understand what someone is trying to say, I just ignore whatever they posted. It saves on frustration.

First off I spent all of a few hours doing speed runs, and that is all I could stand. I did not over gear like you have to on the velineon or any other setup, infact I used the same gearing that I run when I race and I still hit 63mph gps'ed, with a little more room I could have easily hit 65mph if not a touch more. All I needed to do to break 70 was drop in a 54t spur and I would have been over it with a 6s config (72+ adjusted w/ no tire bloat). I have since switched to the e-revo chassis because after that day I didn't run 6s again and I wanted the sealed battery trays for racing... I mean 4s topping at 50mph is more than enough me.Originally Posted by vxlrocket
You'll have more (or at least as much) into that setup and still not be 4wd and it blows as a racer and isn't 1/2 as good as an offroad basher.. I'm sorry there just is no comparing the two for racing or for bashing, the e-revo will go were the rusty can't and do it faster w/ brushless, got to love 4wd!Originally Posted by vxlrocket

Or maybe a tool to allow 4s or 5s operation.. for the current velineon, I'd bet money with the fan on it she would hold out to a Neu or similar motor, the parts are all speced for a 200amp draw and 5s operation. Even just a 4s config w/ a 1.5d would ge great if we could get around the HVC and adjust the LVC.

the only 70+ video i've ever seen was jz's going almost 80 and he was running 8-10s in a maxx....and of course johnny's.... so, until i see it with my own eyes, i gotta remain skeptical at best.![]()
i disagree...the flm package is 355 for a total setup plus 270 for a stock vxl=$625, and that's to have a rtr plus a basic roller.Originally Posted by 1fasterevo
the revo.....450 for the rtr plus 170 for the MMM and another 225 for the neu= $845.
as for racing, the revo, or any 4wd is gonna be better...that's not what i'm debating, however, my 2wd track racer will hang with any associated or losi ST.
