    Wicked fun (Slash, that is)!

I've owned an E-Maxx and Bandit and I currently own 'Pedes and a Rusty. Liked 'em all (ok, the Maxx not so much) but the Slash I bought from my LHS today is easily the most fun Traxxas product I've driven. Here it is.

As soon as I got it home I pilfered a Mamba system from my 'Pede and a MaxAmps 6000mah lipo and strapped 'em in.

Actually, I ended up taking the ESC from the 'Pede and the 6900 from my (son's) Rusty. The Slash seemed to like the torque of the 6900 a bit better than the higher voltage 7700. Geared 15/90 it ran smooth and relatively cool up to the low to mid 40s on pavement and gravel. Spent about an hour bashing! Great fun.

Did you 'Goo the ESC to the battery bar?
Is the zip tie for the heat sink?

Have you encountered the grass-in-the-rear-bumper problem yet?
Man, every single time I ran the truck I'd get all sorts of crap in there. There's a lot of bermuda around here so sometimes I'd get really long strings of it stuck in there.

So I got tired of it and sealed it up with some 'Goo.

I have yet to make sure it works. But it seems pretty obvious that it will.

Nah, the ESC is zip tied to the bar. It's semi-temporary. I'm thinking of adding a fan and screwing it down sometime in the future.

And yes, I managed to catch grass. LOL

Ummm, I think I'll keep my bumper. But I will be investigating a weight or damping or both issue later. I could throw this puppy into a real fast right hand turn and it'd stick to the pavement. A left hander at high speeds induced a roll. Gotta iron that kink out.

    You're a street runner?

I was considering getting some street tires (not anacondas, they look lame -- too rounded) but decided against it because I totally dig it in the grass. Switching suspension setups each time would really put me down.

no bumper to catch the grass and what other nonsense get's stuck in there. I fing alot of plant debris in there. We have that really long like crab grass here. The pieces get like 3 feet long.

Nah, I'm a "what ever is available" runner. Last night it was pavement, gravel and some grass (not too much of the latter geared 15/90, didn't wanna cook my components). We (me and my boyz-ok, kids ) have a little informal course laid out: driveway (concrete) to road (asphalt) to road shoulder (gravel, sand and dirt). Gotta be able to handle it all.

In just a little while I'm gonna catch a video driving on grass.
There are obvious signs of wear on the Trac-Ta-Gators, but I'm pretty mean to them. I can't help but give it full throttle.

There's no dirt around here, either grass or pavement. I stick to the pavement.

Ooops, over estimated the speed a bit. Make that LOW 40s on 15/90:

To hit 50 would take the 7700 and a little taller gear. Still, I think I'll leave it this way. It's well behaved, has good acceleration and the temps were 160s and under.

Oh, it got a number and some warning stickers, too.

nice seeing the variety of numbers in use. i just might be the only person crazy enough to run the number 13. and yet i also seem to be dodging alot of the issues others are having. and i bash hard enough most of my vehicles end up breaking. i mean i cant figure out how i lost a hinge pin on a car. nothing was broke so i cant figure it out.
