Yesterday - with the help of my friends - I finished my BL setup.
Motor: Lehner 1950/5 HiAmp
ESC: MGM Compro 16
LiPo: SLS 2 * 2s 5000 mAh 30C
The motor gets too hot after a few minutes of testing. The ESC temps are okay and the LiPos are barely getting warm.
Timing - I ran the motor with most settings on the MGM on automatic. This also includes the timing. The only thing I can imagine is that the motor's timing has been set incorrectly by this automatic setting.
Gearing - I seriously doubt that I have to further reduce the pinion size. The motor should have more than enough power. I have heard people saying that a too low gearing can also cause the motor to heat up? Is that true? Shall I try a larger pinion/smaller spur?
Any other ideas? The motor has no fins but an built-in active cooling (I'll provide some pics later). Sorry I know these heat/pinion/spur threads are spreading like the plague but I hope you understand that I do have a specific issue and don't ask for a general explanation of settings.
Edit: And another question... does anyone know how many poles the Lehner motors have? I can't find anything on their website.
Edit2: Nevermind... I found out it has 2 poles.
