50 plus with some tiny tires...and who's to say you couldnt put some 20/38gearing on it with some 30 series road rage 2's and hit 65t on-road....and fast with the 4x4....or some talons for off-road....or 40series bow-ties...lol

45 is plenty fast for a nitro.. they don't wind up as quick as electric and need a lot of room to reach that speed.

It's geared lower for racing. Most tracks aren't long and straight enough for 60MPH passes. LOL

I think the 3.3 is more than enough, might be flipping it a lot on sharp bumpy turns with Big Block.

Traxxas has a conversion kit so I am doing it. I am not sure yet I have to buy the Slayer first. I dont want some huge over powering engine but I want somthing more than the 3.3 what do you think would be best?

You don't need the Traxxas big block kit for the .26 Max. It has it's own special mount that works for the Revo. Perhaps it will work for Slayer?

thats true I have an axial.28 in my revo and it was cheaper than a 3.3, you can buy it and a new era BB kit for less than an OS.21

so why does the slayer go 45 if it has a revo transmission but 2.2 tires? Wouldnt it need a little higer gearing for the tires?

The transmission have different gearing to be able to use the same clutch bell and spur as the stock revo. (15T 38T)

That mean you can gear it to go pretty fast.

But seriously id wait to try it first and see how challenging it is to drive with the narrowed width.

And removing the ezstart , converting to bumpstart should light it up a little more and squeeze 1-2 more mph.

i wana say the tires are also a little small, if u put some rustler tires on it im sure it would be able to do at least 55.
    I know the pieces fit.....

The transmission have new gearing to let you use the same clutchbell/spur as revo and let you the option to gear higher or lower.

    Its 15T 38T stock.

seriously could the slayer do 50+ without lifting off, with that huge body and lots of room for air to get under the front end at that speed it seems to me the truck would at least lift the front end.
My Bigblock revos all had that problem about halfway through second gear with 20/38 gearing and that wasnt at 50mph

Just a question but whats with the obsession with top speed on cars designed for the track, even the fastest 1/8th buggies barley get over 35mph on tracks with huge straights.not ment to flame just saying you can only go so fast on dirt before you have to turn.
