No one in this thread gets it. The slayer is merely a Revo with new Wheels and new lid.

    no...no its not.

the revo is wider, the revos engine sits differently, the revo is just different. it will handle completely different than a slayer.

the slayer is layed out on a completely different chassis. you cant use it on a revo. so the suspension parts may be the same... the a arms arent, the axles and center shafts wont be the same, quite frankly... you cant make assumptions on comparison untill you have one.

and IMO...the slayer or the slash would look down right stupid with a set of crimefighters on it with matching proline wheels. if anyone plans on racing it i dont think the stock tires will give sufficient traction

Also the Slayers tranny is different with different gearing it has no reverse and sits lower to the ground just to name a few more.

1.) The revo and slayer share the same motor mount, and the motor does not sit any different. They are the same.
2.) As for chassis layouts, give me a break

Shocks, same position, fuel tank same position, radio box same position, trans same position, , steering servos(well servo) same spot. The slayer is a narrowed 2.5 revo with small tires and gearing to accommodate. I can cut my half shafts down in length on my 2.5 revo to match the slayer. Buy the shortened arms, pushrods and turnbuckles on ebay when someone starts parting them out and either take up the gearing in the cb/spur or buy the new case and the two different gears and drop the innards of my 2.5 trans in it.
I tried being reasonable, I didn't like it.

I would like the Slayer if it had a wider wheel base. And it was a little higher.I have one coming next week,i ordered one over a month ago so we will see.I wonder if the Revo A-arms would work on the Slayer to make it wider and then just use the Revo axles!!That would be a kick@ss truck then!Just my opinion though!

The slayer uses the same bulkheads and suspension pins so revo arms should bolt right on. You will also need longer pushrods and turnbuckles.

The chassis is exactly the same as a Revo 2.5 chassis and has the same motor position.

    Differences:
Tranny (has to be geared higher due to small tires to hit 50mph)
A-arms, Push rods, Turnbuckles and shafts are all shorter
    CORR Body
    CORR Wheels
    CORR Bumpers

Everything is bolt on to any revo out there, if you do this on a 3.3 you will just have a longer wheel base, +1" more. If you do this conversion like me on a e-revo chassis your wheel base will be +1.5" more. I plan on dumping the rear bumper and just adjusting the body to look correct. I'm sticking with the slayer suspension though.. it's a bit too wide w/ the revo parts. Funny enough using the 3.3 chassis the slayer would have had the same wheel base as the slash ?? what gives, I guess traxxas had a lot of old 2.5 chassis to sell through
