    Anyone Want a e-Slayer Now???

I sure do I'm an electric guy but the Slayer is tempting me to turn to nitro.... Hopefully it's going to be on a newly engineered chassis like the e-Revo. I love my Slash but an e-Slayer makes it all the better. I'll have a Pro 2 and Pro 4 truck.

I would like the extra weight and 4wd to help hook up the BL power. Definetly nice but I wish there was a metal chassis elcetric model. I took my slash to a gravel road the other day, boy was it hard to get it moving at any decent speed.

Absolutely. I'm saving for an E-Revo but if an E-slayer is available by the time I've got the money it's definitely what I'd buy.

An E-Slayer should be cake to convert. There are at least two solid kits for the Revo which should work, as well as custom jobbies.

I would do an E-slayer I think. Looking at the current E-Revo, I wonder is it much to just put the slayer specific parts on there?

I think it will be a while before there is an E-Slayer or Nitro Slash.

    That's funny.

I highly doubt Traxxas will make an E-Slayer because there wouldn't really be any reason to keep producing the Slash.

Well there's a 2WD S-MAXX and a 4WD T-MAXX so you never know. They made an electric Revo after people made their nitro Revos electric...but it took like..well..however many years it took.

What?! They are totally different trucks. There are only a couple of similarities! The body, wheels/tires and bumpers.

The Slayer is nitro, 4WD, and has revo chassis/suspension.
The Slash is electric, 2WD and has regular up/down shocks with single a-arms.

They aren't even close, that is why this is called Slayer not "Nitro Slash".

Looking at the pictures, I think it'd be easier to turn an E-Revo into an E-Slayer than it would be to turn a Nitro Slayer into an E-Slayer.

If you switched out the a-arms, wheels and body on an E-Revo, you'd pretty much have an E-Slayer.

It would be way longer though. The body would look goofy.

e slayer - e slash, nitro slayer - nitro slash.
They all look basically the same.
Traxxas just changed a few little parts here and there on the slayer to just have a different name for the truck. And will most likely come out with a e slayer and nitro slash. But traxxas really needs to concentrate on making better quilaty parts for their vehicles.

They changed more than a few parts. They have almost no similarities. Where did the quality thing come from? The general consensus on this forum is that Traxxas makes great quality stuff.

the only things that are the same are wheels, tires and body style..oh and bumper style

its almost like saying an electric rustler is the same as a nitro jato just because there both stadium trucks with a close body styling

Not really, the only thing they changed on them is the suspension mostly, that and of course one is nitro and the other is electric. It really doesn't matter to me anyway, just look at the stampede and rustler and they have alot of similarties between them. And if they ever come out with an e-slayer it will have alot in common with the slash. But don't see it happening, since they already got the slash.

The nitro rustler and nitro jato are basically the same thing also, just depends on which suspension you like better. Even though the Jato has a few more upgrades to it.

me?...i love the slayer (for what i can make it into...like most of the vehicles i buy) most cars/trucks dont come perfect...usually have a low top speed because there under geared (so they can say it pops wheelies on the box) and they usually like to rollover (except the jato)...but i see a car for what it can be not what it is...just like with 1:1 cars

exactly...see traxxas is sooo smart theve actually come out with a whole new type of rc...not a stadium truck, not a monster truck, or a buggy, truggy, on-road, drag-racer....its a short course race truck....now other companies will probably come out with there own versions...and you will notice the same body styling....after this will come corr bodies wheels and tires from all the after-market manufacturers

evo..yes they are both core trucks..it would be silly 2 scale corr trucks that dont actually look like core trucks now wouldnt it...and as for the slash and the evo being the same...yes they are both rc trucks....but both totally diff....

diff suspension means diff bulks means different diffs and different chassis conections means diff braceing and diff layout..

this coupled with 2wd and 4wd drive means they handle totally diferent, jumps differently and generall behave very differently....sooo what ur saying is

the WRX subaru rally car and their road car are exactly the same....just cause they have similar bodywork.....ok..but try taking the road car 150 mph down a rally stage and lets see how long before the wheels fall of

    aaaand back to the thread....

i think this would make a very nice leccy conversion...but they have to do 2 things...a nice thick ally chassis to keep the weight....and its gotta be brushless

if that came out i would buy it no worries..
we can rebuild it, we can make it faster, stronger

So if the Slayer and the Slash are the same truck, then I'm the Bearded Lady. The trucks are no more similar than an apple is to an orange, other than the fact that the Slash and the Slayer are modeled off CORR trucks. That's where the similarities stop (outside of wheel/tire combo, bumpers, and body). The chassis for the Slayer is completely different from the Slash. Even the bulkheads are different, so while both trucks appear to be the same on the outside, lift the shell and it's a whole other world underneath.

they are very different rucks. The Jato and Rustler are different trucks the Tmaxx and Revo are different the only ones that share alot of similarity are the Nitro Sport and Nitro Rustler and the Bandit and electric Rustler.

It HAS been done before. Can't remember who the manufacturer was though. It was basically a typical buggy layout modified to use the new body and wheels.
