So I bought the Velineon....

Got it all installed and it runs fine until I put it on the ground then it stops and gives a slow, red flashing light. The manual says it's the low voltage protection kicking in. I tried it will two different fully charged batteries and get the same thing...any info?

Turn off the LVC. It's only for lithium. It seriously screws up the performance when using nickle packs... as you just noticed.

You'll have gobs of power without it on.

Woot! Thanks a bunch...man this truck is scary fast....last week I put truggy springs on it, now it just wants to roll over, lol. Time to put the stock springs and heavier oil in the shocks. Thanks again. This is my first BL experience, if you couldn't tell.

strange, i am using smc 6 cell ener-g 4600 packs and have lvc turned on. vxl esc and vxl motor installed. works great and the truck is fast.

Well.. two things in response to that.
1.) You're wrong and the LVC is deactivated.
B.) It really is on and you can turn it off for a crap load more power.

The LVC doesn't limit the power that NiMh packs will deliver, it's just that the nickel pack's voltage will drop under load and trigger the LVC. It doesn't always happen, I've run NiMh packs with the LVC enabled without issue before because I forgot to disable it when switching.

I had to turn my LVC off to get the Nimh 4200 8.4s to work. Plus try setting the throttle to 70/30 and tunning that into the VXL ESC for better response. In Dirt That VXL has to much Horse power and not enought traction.
