    Question Waterproof brushless

Why are brushed motors like the Titan 12T waterproof but BL ones like the VXL can't be made waterproof? Are all brushed motors waterproof?

The 12t titan is not really waterproof. Running it in water will significantly shorten its life. As for brushless motors, the vxl has a circuit board which may get damaged by water. Something like the mamba max motors will run in water fine.

main reason is...titan = full of holes so water will drain out....

brushless = not full of holes...so any water that gets in finds it hard to get out so does increased damage
we can rebuild it, we can make it faster, stronger

That motor/esc will barely push a slash, I am not even sure it will fit as it is for 1/18. However, the Mamba max is suppose to be just as waterproof. I have hit some huge puddles with my mm esc over the last year and it is still going strong.

The Mamba max is waterproof but the USB slot is not. If you can cover the USB output then you are fine to get it wet..

A misconception. The hole in the case of the Mamba's enclosure exposing the USB port is not a weak point in it's design. Whether or not the Mamba is waterproof, no one on this forum seems to know for sure 100%. But the Enclosure is not sealed, not even with the USB port taped.

Remove the two 1.5mm hex screws and you'll see why.

Not a misconsumption. Fact from doing it. I wouldn't say its 100% submergable but water isn't an issue when the usb slot is covered properly. I'm also the one who made the video with mamba-25
