    yes, its a safety precaution.

$30 or risk burning down a house, you make the call....do you NEED it?

I just picked up the venom pro charger. Awesome charger. It will charge just about any battery you can think of, comes with a host of adapters including a balance port from 2cell to 6cell. 140 dollars is not bad either.

The balancer's primary purpose is not for saving your house from fire. Keeping the lithium cells at the exact same voltage produces optimum performance and prolongs pack life.

The Hyperion LBA10 is a great balancer.

yes get one. and use it every time! The balancer will make sure each cell is the same so you wont have one at 4.2 and the other at 3.6. and risk getting the lower cell down too far befo the LVC kicks in.

also it could prevent fire cuz if one cell is at 3.8 but the other is at 3...that could be bad

You won't need a NET Cable. It's for linking two LBA10's together to balance a whole lunch of cells. Don't worry about that one.

The Data Cable is for using with a Hyperion charger. The LBA10 will pass on information about each cell to the Hyperion charger to be displayed on the LCD. It's not a mandatory accessory. If you have any other LiPo charger, the LBA10 will still work, you just won't have the cell information displayed.

But if you have a Hyperion charger, go ahead and get one. It's cheap.

I was told you don't need a balancer with a 2s lipo....but man who wants to take the chance when you can get a blinky for 25 bucks??

The pack doesnt care if the voltage is different, its not going to last any longer in the long run. The balancer keeps one cell from overcharging (creating massive fire) when one cell is under voltage and the charger cant tell so it overcharges the rest. It also helps keep the pack from over discharging due to one cell being too low and the LVC not catching it.

the person who came up with that theory needs to go back to the drawing board.....bogus info right there. Its less likely to need it, but needs one.

You just proved my point about how it will last longer.

    Overcharging/discharging will kill the pack.

Thanks. You made it easier on my fingers -- less to type.
