Twin VXL (Velineon) E-Revo... Many pics!!!

Hey guys, I just picked up my E-Revo about three days ago and have done quite a few hop-ups to perfect it (in my eyes). lol.

There are way too many things for me to list so I'll just let you look at my pics. Let me know if you have any questions.

P.S- I'm using twin Losi 5000mah 2C Lipos. I get about 25-30 mins of constant bashing time. It's a great great setup but I cant wait to try it out with my Maxamp 5000mah 3C which are on their way.

Anyways, enjoy the pics... Comments always welcome, haters too.

Thanks! Haven't gotten around to gunning or strapping a GPS to it but if I had to guess I'd say anywhere from 40-45mph. No temps taken yet either since my temp gun is broken. I'll post temps tomorrow when I get a new gun.

P.S- Running stock E-Revo gearing btw.

it looks awesome. love the roll cage, but it looks like it blocks the battery compartments...maybe just the angle of the pics? where did you get the cage?

Yup... That's the one I'm using. It doesn't block the battery trays. It's actually perfect for me, because if for whatever reason they come open during bashing they wont open all the way unless you apply minimal pressure to push it past the roll cage. I run it without a body for better cooling and for ease of temp and visual checks. Also most bodies don't fit over the cage. : ) I don't like taking my RC's through mud and water so i don't worry about any of the internals, all else is fair game.

The yellow and the white wire are switched on one of the ESCs so yes, it is in reverse.

Got a new temp gun today and some 3cell lipos only 3200 mah though. My motor temps are peaking at about 175 and my esc's are at around 120-125. Any input on these temps? That's balls to the wall 10-15 min running through thick grass and some high speed runs on asphalt.

P.S- This thing is SICK with twin 3 cells! Just what I wanted... I can now wheelie at any speed. Cant go full throttle unless I wanna wheelie. lol.

ESC temps are awesome, motor temps could be better, but you will be safe up to 200*.

VXLSQUARED, How do you have the ESCs and the servos connected to the Rx? I did a V-twin on my E-maxx, but used a Y cable for the ESCs...

I might be wrong, but it looks like you have the ESCs on two different channels?

Instead of using a Y cable I'm using the Futaba servo synchronizer that you see in the pic... The servos I have running a Y cable. Many people have used a Y for a V-Twin but I prefer the servo synchronizer because it's just a guarantee that they will be activated at the exact time preventing headaches in the long run.

    Thanks for the compliments guys!

So you have that MSA-10 hooked to a short extension that goes inside the Rx box?

I'd cover more of the roll cage areas with mesh so it looks more like a body like the spaces right behind the left and right "windows". Just a thought.

Is that a normal Revo roll cage?

Correct... The cord on the MSA-10 was too short for where I needed to mount it.

Ya I'll get to covering it with some mesh soon enough. lol.

I'm using the silver in front and blue in rear... they are for the 120mm setup but I have them on the progressive 2 setup 90mm and it handles the extra weight great. Puts it back at stock height maybe slightly lower. I also have it preloaded as much as possible. It handles great with the weight and sway bars I have on it now. Just need to keep fine tuning it till I'm happy. Also i put 70 weight oil in the shocks now instead of factory 30. The revo platinum comes with 50 weight by the way.

No sir... Lipo only since day one. It would be a waste in my opinion to do nimh with a setup like this. it would negate the power gains for all the weight.

I am new to Electric trucks.
I bought an E-revo and a Platinum revo. I just converted the E-revo to E-Platinum Revo.
I am dropping in twin Velineon motors.
What is the best way to do this?
What else do I need? Fans? Cooling fins?
How do you change the gearing?

I am a nitro buff, going to electric.

    Thank you
