The security detail on Popoxx's build is significantly increasing with each stage of the build. I smell a conspiracy. Looking forward to it!

I just broke the chassis on my E-Maxx So I'm getting the FLM one
Popoxx, I saw you bent your FLM chassis but was that the V1?
I'm wondering if my E-Maxx will stand up to some abuse (Probably not as much as you though). Heres what upgrades I have:
    RPM Shocktowers
    RPM A-Arms all around
    RPM bulkhead braces
    New Era front bulkheads
    New Era chassis braces
    MMM 2200kv system
    Thunder Power 5000mah 40c batteries
    Soon coming, FLM chassis

Yes it was the V1, but the V2 is almost the same... (it's just the front which has been modified so that the stock steering system fits). But if you don't do that : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GQg4TlF8AyA (I think I bent the chassis during this session...), it should be OK

And if you're really worried, you can add 2mm CF plates (http://www.fullforcerc.com/Carbon.htm) like I did :

Of course you'll be obliged to buy battery boxes (ebay, Novak, RCM).

Your chassis braces will be useless because the FLM ones (included with the chassis kit) are different from the stock ones. No problem for the other parts you have. If you want more choice for shock position, and less flex, have a look at FLM (http://www.fastlanemachine.net/prodd...LM19000&cat=15) or UE (http://www.unlimitedengineering.com/...ore/10102.html) shock towers. An antenna mount better than the one included in the FLM kit is also recommended. And a flat center skid (so not the stock one) is also a good upgrade to consider.

And now you can start your build thread

Well, I've done enough upgrades for now untill I do some more garden jobs & have pockets a little deeper
I have my own idea for battery trays but I'll wait until I get the chassis to tell everybody & post some pictures (Should I post them here or start a new thread? )

What wrong with the supplied antenna mount?

What do the CF plates do? Are they for looks or to protect the batteries?

    Thanks

BTW, I have hardcase TP lipo's

The supplied antenna mount is just an alu cone-shaped tube, you can't tight the antenna tube so you'll lose it...
Have a look at these ones for example : http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...ount&search=Go.

The CF plates strengthen the chassis and they allow to obtain a flat chassis so that I can mount sturdy battery boxes larger than the original trays (the length wasn't a problem). You can see on this pic that the chassis isn't totally flat :

And yes please start your own build thread

I don't think the antenna mount will be a problem because the tube doesn't stick out of the body, & I sometime have the antenna inside the reciever case.
I might start my own build thread of the putting the new chassis together, I'll see about it.

    Hey Popoxx

Just wondering if you got one of those Centre Motor/Diff mounts from Mike? Was wondering how they would fit on the FLM, but they didn't last long in stock. Oh I bet thats the "Next Step"?

To be honest, I bought one but finally I think I won't use it...
You need to drill some holes in a FLM 3906 center skidplate (or a custom alu skid) to install it, not a big deal.
But the stock tranny is bulletproof and I don't want to use a CD/Slipperential which requires more tunings and attention.

Is it an essential upgrade for bashers ? I don't think so. What do you think ?

Here's why I was asking. I wanted to run a 56T or 58T Spur but I can only fit a 62T before the motor hits the tranny, I'm running a 23t pinion at the moment, so I suppose I could just go 24 or 25t. The stock tranny is fantastic, never had any problems with it and never had to do anything to it.

I suppose if you are more of a racer the CD Mount would be better, probably lower centre of gravity and lighter but like you said not such a big deal if you just want to bash. That been said, I do like the way it looks and I might think about getting one when you come out agian.

Why would you want to go to 56t or 58t spur gear? A 62t or even a 65t will give you more gearing options.

Dont want to hijack Popoxx thread, but running my stock diff setup with MMM Combo I was getting 38-40mph with 64/23. With the Hybrid & 1/8th diffs I have to go 56/23 for around the same. Even running 62/25 it will still be slower, so thats why I wanted the 56 or 58.

As you can see I'm not ready (boxes are for my E-Maxx and my E-Revo). And I won't be ready this WE because I need to do some tests and to order the final parts.

Deadline : March 31st, midnight Of course I hope I will post the pics before this date !

Ok lets play, "Whats in the box" game.

I reckon there is at least 1 Truck Shell, Maybe a new chassis, a set of wheel/tires, something from Kershaw Designs, and a partridge in a pear tree.

Such a tease though Poppox. I need inspiration now on parts for my E-Maxx since I sunk it on an iceberg. (I snapped the front bulkheads and skid plate on some very hard snow in a front-end collision. )

To be honest, I have to postpone the release

I'm really busy with my financial thesis and my exams (last year of my business school which ends on April 28th ).

Sorry guys I was too optimistic when I posted the teaser !

    So... sad update :

But I hope I could post pics of my new maxx by the end of April !

I noticed that everytime the availability date for the Slash 4x4 ultimate gets pushed, so does Popoxx's. Coincidence....probably but, speculation is part of the fun.
