Mashers !! They are great for hard & soft grounds ! Mulchers are better on soft grounds but the "studs" wear out fast.
I hope you will be testing it soon.Originally Posted by Popoxx
My *****s shipped from HK April 10th and should be here this week.
I'm also expecting some parts from A Main Hobbies, shipped April 14th.
So if all goes well, I receive all the stuff this week and we can schedule a nice bash session next week end.
E-Maxx on NiMH / Savage Flux on LiPO
Cool![]()
But you know what... I won a bid on ebay for a 2200kv black Castle/Neu motor... I didn't want to win, I had made a bid just "to see"
Now I'm obliged to buy the MMM!
I will use the MMM combo on my E-Revo first. And if I'm happy with it I will buy one for my E-Maxx![]()
I dismantled my E-Maxx today, and I noticed that I bent the battery trays of my FLM chassis and the input shaft/drive (http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...3&I=LXTKP6&P=K) !!!![]()
I can't believe it...
The rest of the truck is OK, fortunately !
Next step : custom RC-Monster battery trays (soon here), the surprise (end May), MMM combo ?
thats pretty crazy you bent the flm chassis!!
You know... I got so excited when I read that you won that bid, I think that is crazy!! But then I saw where you BENT the UNBENDABLE FLM, and my heart sank! lol I've seen bent Gorrilla Maxxes over at RCM but NEVER an FLM! I guess if someone was to bend one it would be you![]()
I was gonna participate in your MMM poll as soon as a could get a decent camera man (to show my style) but it looks like you'll have your own experience soon enough!

I knew you would be happy to read that Kcaz25![]()
Now I can't wait to order the MMM !!
It's a pity for the FLM chassis but it's not a big problem, only the battery trays are bent because they are thin (I'm sure I bent them during my session at the skate park with my lipo batts !). But I have the solution, and my surprise will totally fix this issue![]()
Cough, hammer, cough cough
Or, heat and hammer = straight chassis >:]
That is quite amazing to bend the chassis. Will FLM take that under warranty?
E-Maxx on NiMH / Savage Flux on LiPO
Nice job Popoxx! Never mind how bent it is, that chassis is still beautiful!![]()
Output shaft on the other hand doesn't look so great!
Very very sad Popoxx, do you know what possibly was causing this fatal error on your Novak?![]()
![]()
I am still impressed by how much punch your FLM chassis has passed without going to pieces, but it never feels good when things go to pieces (bent).
Would be incredibly fun if you chose MMM 2200KV comb now![]()

Ones again I am very sorry for your sake.
get that mmm yet???
thats my birthday monthim getting an mmm

Ooh sorry Popoxx, I did not see you'll already have a MMM comb (Black E-Revo edition) on the entry. I must be blind or maybe my response was just published just before this response from you came on your thread?
Guess it's me thought
jkelly2900 : why not ? It's funnyIt won't be a common upgrade !

Sorry I'm blind again Popoxx, you did just get the 2200kv black Castle/Neu motor and not the MMM.

Popoxx, I originally found you videos on YouTube and was so happy to find your posts on here documenting your awesome build. My son and I currently race a couple of Slashes and bash with our hopped up Stampedes. I have always loved the E-Maxx though and yours is a model of what I would like to build. I am curious to see how your E-Revo ends up but think you will have a hard time topping your E-Maxx for bashing. Keep the posts and videos coming!

One other thing Popoxx. Have you ever considered the Kershaw Chassis for your E-Maxx? It looks like it will fit the stock components such as the reciever box better but still give you the strength you need.

But now Fast Lane has the V2 chassis and have worked out all the problems found in the old version.Originally Posted by SlashRacer

Welcome SlashRacer ! I'm glad that you found my build thread congrats![]()
Concerning the alu chassis, I prefer the look of the FLM one. And as traxxas basher said, FLM released an update of its chassis a short time ago to fix the problems of the V1. FLM didn't update its website but you can find some pics in this thread : http://monster.traxxas.com/showthread.php?t=457488 (p5).
If you want to buy one, go on RC-Monster (http://www.rc-monster.com/) or Addicted2RC (http://www.addicted2rc.com/). They have only the V2 in stock I think, send them a mail to be sure![]()
I sent Mike an EMail literally 2 weeks ago and he said that they waited for FLM to release the V2. They completely restocked and no longer have any V1 FLM chassis.
RC Monster only have the FLM Version 2 Chassis!
You guys almost have me convinced on the FLM V2 chassis. Why is the FLM chassis better than the Kershaw chassis? I like the options Kershaw has for battery trays so I don't have to rely on just velcro straps. I guess I need just a little more convincing before I hand out my hard earned cash.
RC Outlaws-SmacTrac-B&L Hobbies
The kershaw is more.. rustic... the FLM is a work of art and just as strong. I am thinking of keeping my brand new V1 and putting it on my brushed maxx and ordering a V2 for my build.Originally Posted by SlashRacer
Personally I prefer the FLM chassis especially because of its nice design, as Bandit_Kaine obviouslyI know the battery trays of the KD one are better but it's not enough to convince me to buy one (sorry Dan
).
KD is a strong and good chassis but without the same finish as FLM. KD has sharp edges which can easily damage the cables or your fingers for that matter. You can easily grind away the edges with a dremle thought.
I have both KD and FLM FLM V1 and V2.
Pictures of the chassis here side by side.

With your batteries that puts you squarely at 12pounds.I was just courious. I should weigh in at 11.5 currently(fully loaded RTR). I'll update my thread with lots of info within the next few days.

Popoxx did you do this?, from Futaba manual.![]()
"When you install the servos always
use the rubber grommets provided in
servo hardware bags. Mount the servos
so they do not directly come in
contact with the mount.
If the servo case comes in direct contact with the
mount, vibration will be directly transmitted to the
servo.
If this condition continues for a long time the servo
may be damaged and control will be lost."

No![]()
But my servos work very well w/o these rubber grommets !![]()
I have only used those rubber grommets once![]()

Okey, thanks![]()
Popoxx I'm having problems setting up my suspension. How high can you drop your truck from before it bottoms out? If I hold mine a foot high it bottoms out! Even with the green Integy progressives! I do need to move up in oil weight as right now I'm using AE 40, so its a little bouncey but that shouldn't having much to do with the bottoming. I was thinking 60 or even 70? I have a big spacer on every shock aswell... I weighed the truck again and I'm just over 11 pounds. Should I be okay with this quick bottoming?
Thanx,
Zack
