Funkedout called them yesterday and you need to buy the 6.5 mm connects seperatly but it does come with the castle link

"the monster mamba will not have a usb jack on board. it presents a problem for keeping dirt out. however, every monster mamba will ship with the castle link cable that will work with all of our products."

http://www.impaktrc.com/index.php?cP...98f18e5a8132cc the 1515 1y is out of stock, but they have tons of other suitable motors- hackers, megas, medusas etc. If not, then try the boat or plane sites in my link thread: http://monster.traxxas.com/showthrea...62#post3263662

Castle appears to have a pretty good relationship with RC-M. He's been promised to have some out of the first batch. I'd put my money on getting one from Mike before Tower.

My thoughts anyway. I actually ordered one from Tower, one from Castle, and two from Mike. I'll let you know which one gets here first. :-)

You know what I'm running LOL

I've been hovering my cancel button on that tower order for a while on my preorder for the MMM. I actually ordered one at castle myself.. and I only really need one. I may just leave it to see which comes first.

I chose the 1.5d because I will get close to 50mph w/ 22/58 gearing on my 4s setup and it only gets SICKER when I drop in my 5s and 6s lipos configs.. And I am very sick

EDIT: 2200 vs 2700kv is all it comes down to... 2700 will be faster but run hotter on the same voltage. As you reduce your kv your speed and temps follow. The torque rating is higher on motors in the same class (1515's) as you lower your kv's as well. Again I will run 4s most of the time so I wanted about 50 with this config and this is one of the very few motors that can handle it.

I pre ordered from Tower for now.. But might order from the other ones to get it ASAP.
Tower is $170, with coupon for that price range is subtract $15 = $155.

If Your Order Totals: YOU SAVE Click on Ad#

    $100.00 - $149.99 $10.00 011TM
    $150.00 - $174.99 $15.00 011TN
    $175.00 - $199.99 $20.00 011TP
    $200.00 - $224.99 $25.00 011TR
    $225.00 or more $30.00 011TV

I need some other stuff, so at the $200 plus range, it works out the same, $145 for the MMM. Sign up for the club and I think the shipping would be free also.
I want the one batch that has the wires direct soldered and skip the bullet plugs, I think that version is supposed to come from Castle directly right?

    Neil,

I like the looks of these "Designed and Engineered in the USA " motors, with ABEC 5 bearings, but having trouble picking the right one... a little help ? LOL

    Prob a 2200 Afterburner V2 ?

"All Medusa Research motors are rated for 60,000 RPM operation
For the best efficiency, your ESC should be setup with 8º to 15º advance, and a switching rate of 10 to 20kHz.
The above motors have 4 poles."

he just redid it hold on ill find the product code for round 2

    2nd run pre-order - 05.03.2008, 10:38 AM

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The pre-orders for the 1st batch came and went fast - better than expected response and I greatly appreciate everyone's support (of course, the low cost surely was a factor in the purchase decision!).
I have arranged a 2nd batch to follow the first shipment - it will likely be 1-2 weeks behind the 1st batch. I have also set up another pre-order coupon for anyone who "missed the boat" on the first run - the next boat is officially pulling into the dock now, you might say.
The Mamba Monster are going back "in stock" for another pre-order run - if you missed the first batch and haven't got your controller ordered yet, this may be your best opportunity to get one, as surely many others are "pre-sold out" as well. Same deal as the initial pre-order, but a different coupon code - mambamonster2
The 1st batch and 2nd batch may come in several shipments, but all orders will be processed on a 1st come, 1st serve basis and I don't anticipate anyone having to wait for too long on either batch (surely Castle is going to do everything they can to meet the demand on these units). The store is open, folks. Get your pre-orders in if you missed the first run pre-order deal - if this batch moves as fast as the last one, you have about 1-2 days before we are "sold out" again!

Thanks to everyone who supported "the Monster" on the first pre-order deal and thanks to everyone for their continued support - this deal is just another "thank you" for everyone here that allows me to make a living in this hobby that we all love.

Any idea on if they charge you when you buy one or when they ship it? I've got an MGM but a price like that is hard to turn down.

I think I read that they charge your credit card at order time and then ship it later. I dont think those guys do much pre-order and its usually shipped the same day you buy it or the next. I've always had great service and support from Rc-Monster and they carry all sorts of great stuff.

Hmmm, but where to find the 6.5mm plugs in stock. Wouldn't that be fun, have the whole set up and no way to plug it in to the MMM. Forget if the 10g wires with no connector are on the motor or battery side.

    http://monster.traxxas.com/showpost....5&postcount=48

    Joe Ford
"BT...I'm guessing at least 8 weeks until we get production motors in. Yes, we have prototypes that we're testing with and they're working great. Enlarged bearings (not sure on ABEC rating...haven't gotten all the nitty gritty from the boss man yet). First batch of MMM ESCs will have 10ga wire soldered to the board and 6.5mm connectors attached. Including 10mm connectors (and maybe 10ga wire) for the motor you choose to use in the interim. Motors we're testing are 2200kv. With 24 pinion and stock spur on and Emaxx you'll have a LOT of fun if you run 6s2p A123. 4s A123 gear up considerably on the pinion or drop down on the spur. Make sure your motor stays below 200F though (max temp recommended by most motor manufacturers)."
