    E-Revo pricing?

Well, just saw this interview by I assume a Traxxas employee from RCX. He stated that the price of the E-Revo would be around $1000,...holy cow. They just lost me on this one. But, again it's still a couple of months till release. I guess will wait till then. Check the video you on you tube.

I can't see much more than the new E-maxx. Maybe $50-70 more. Not much more to it, to raise the price over that.

A few threads on this already if you search and read, but I would guess 425-450 for the titan version.

EDIT: from the other thread they are saying "about" the price of the revo 3.3, I'll have to be less.. even though it's electric the box will say 35MPH not 45+MPH on it. If they were equal, then the price would be.. but then again traxxas can price it how ever they feel fit :P Demand will be huge at first and once the market settles and supply starts to catch up, I'm sure like the emaxx 3905 you will see the price drop down to 425ish.

it's not going to be 1000.00.if you listen to the guy said he thinks.there is no way it's going to be as much as the HPI baja.nobody will pay that much.if it is traxxas can keep it.it will be cheaper to buy a gas one and do it your self.

I'm betting about $444.99 at Tower for the E-Revo.

I agree about 100 dollars more than new emaxx sounds perfect its a new product in general vs the so called, "new emaxx" which was rehashed.

The new e-revo will be nice as an alternative to nitro. HOWEVER, remember that you will need multiple batteries to extend play time. And, a brushless HV motor will be best for similar power as nitro for a 1/10 monster truck. The new velinion motor, IMO, will not be enough for this vehicle, as I have many brushless conversions. You will need two or three extra 3S 11.1 lipos with good capacity (2000-3000 mah) to get "refuel", and you might need a couple on the truck. Electric is quiet, but not as green as most think. You have to charge them with 12 volts DC (battery or 110 volt home outlet) and most power plants in the US are fossile fuel fired, not nuclear.
    Hope is not a plan.

If this is new, please provide your link to your post explaining these points to those who think that running electric is saving the planet.
    Hope is not a plan.

Saves your world, not the planet.. neighbors don't dislike you, wife doesn't dislike you for making a complete mess, you turn it on turn it off quick hose down and done! no tuning teaking cleaning grime.. no continual cost for nitro, even though you need spare sets of batteries, in the end it's a ton cheaper than running nitro.. and I would suggest going w a single brushless setup anyway and pulling the evx-2 and titans before the first run and getting a good $$$ out of them on ebay.. almost enough to pay for a Feigao 8xl or 9xl and MM controller, better yet add a couple bills and get the MMM controller run a 4s to 6s config. If money is no object snag a platty or Neu motor.

Thanks for your input. Boil it down and either are no cheaper than the other when you extrapolate the time table is suppose and other factors. BUT, most of the fun, for me, is learning and tuning engines and the SOUND and smell of nitro. Batteries are expensive and end up in land fills (NiMH and NiCD) lipos green BUT can burn down your house.
    Hope is not a plan.

The environmental impact of fuels used to power an rc car is negligible at best. Some people enjoy the tuning and noise of nitro and that's fine. I just want to charge up and go. I want to spend the time wrenching on my truck to be towards upgrades and not getting it to run properly.

To stay away from electric because you're afraid of burning your house down or filling up the earth with batteries is silly, IMO. Lipos, when charged properly and placed in a protective bag will not burn down your house even if things go awry. Batteries can be recycled; they don't have to end up in landfills.

I never understood the nitro/electric debate. It's more of a religion than anything else.

Not religion. Choice. I like both. But they both have pros and cons.

everyone is saying 500 then you have to buy a brushless.traxxas made it water proof so guys that don't race can have fun and worry about nothing.im buying it cause i like the revo and i don't want to deal with gas cause batteries are the future.plus the thing is waterproof i can bash in the snow and not have to worry if there is water.plus 30 mph is pretty quick on dirt.one more thing gas might be faster but my electric will drag your gas truck down the street.

Ha ha ha ha! As if nitro fuel isn't combustible at all! You are kidding, right?
I know they're having their break there by your brake drums. No, you're not invited.

LOL, thats ONLY when they are over charged/discharged. That never happens when you have a quality charger IMO.

Nitro fuel, what happens when nitro fuel ignites? It explodes!
    I WILL spank a nitro any day...guaranteed. :)

these kinds of debates are rather pointless (much like "debating" religion, as another poster noted).... but I'll thrown in an interesting observation.

As the 1990's progressed, more guys got into nitro because thats where the big speed and power was. It makes sense that if you're invested enough into the hobby that you want fast and powerful... I think we're going to see a similar shift back to electric (and we already are) in the coming years for the exact same reason. With proper battery/ESC/motor combinations, electric vehicles are able to deliver more power than comparable nitro setups.... the main barrier to electric power taking the hobby by storm is just the huge up-front cost for such a system.

i dont care if your charger cost more than your car does lipos still have a chance of puffing, sizzling and bursting in to a metal fire. lithium is a extremely
reactive with (air and water). the two things that are in a great abundance
here on planet earth . i would not run a lipo in anything that can possibly come in contact with ( air or water ). im not a lipo hater. lipos have great uses. (my opinion) just not in a vehicle that is made to run through water.
oh and i hope the e-revo is around 444.99 too
