    This is bad. Very bad.

I just found out yesterday that there is a forest fire a couple miles away from my house that burned over 3,000 acres. Here is a link:http://www.thealbanyproject.com/show...o?diaryId=2869
That's the bad news. The good news is that it is currently 80% contained and is dying out. Had me worried there for a while. I am just glad it is near over and nobody lost their homes or lives.

It is a shame what happened to the state park though. I sure hope they find out who/what started it.

Glad to here your OK NStampede. Being from Southwest Florida we have had our share of scares. 2 years ago I literally watched the 100+ foot flames pass my home by 1/8 of a mile. Luckily the wind was in the right direction for me that day. No so for many others. 35 homes and 50+ vehicles gone in several hours. It was arson, 2 -13 year olds playing with phonebooks and matches. 2 years latter the scars are still visible. Glad you came through OK.

Yeah, luckily we were pretty far away from it and it didn't get too out of control. But is still a nasty fealing when you know there is a chance that everything me and my family owns could be toast.

Update!!!! The fire is now 80-90% contained. Only 100 acres burned in the last 24HR. The total is 3,100 acres burned as of the latest info. 200 firefighters are on the fire.

The good news it there might be some rain coming our way this weekend. Can't wait for it start raining!
