    Gearing

I am hoping to hear some opinions on what would be a good possible gear ration on my jato. I was was hoping to get some more top end speed but not to sacrifice too much of that low end wheelie power.

Well i have a Jato 3.3 running 15/36 gear ratio, all i can say is WOW!
It pull wheelies from a standing start and even will lift if you nail WOT after its hit 2nd gear...

My Talon rear tires came unglued yesterday from so much ballooning

I run a modded custom gear combo, ratio=1.44:1, way taller than stock 2.25:1. We can all tell you what we run, but our setups are diff. To give you a good answer and help determine where you need to be, we need to know where you are now. What pitch gears, tires, ez-start, etc. all make a diff. with gearing. I ran 3 combos yesterday, one or two teeth make a big diff.

Well at the moment all of the driveline components are stock with the 24T CB and 54T spur gear. Yes it does have the Ez-start on it along with the anaconda tires.

I your engine is strong and tunning on point, I would start with 19/38=2.0 This is the same as the 20/40, but the odd/even provides a much better mesh gear mesh.

Does Traxxas make a 19T CB? I found the Spur gear but as far as the CB all i can see is 20t and 18t.

These are good, both 19 and 20. The Traxxas CB fits the Jato SG. They are a different pitch than the Revo CB/SG.

Now how will in know what CB and what SG will fit together? I ordered a Traxxas 20t CB and a Traxxas 40t SG from Tower and they apparently have a different pitch. Before i order new ones I want to be sure that they will work this time.
