    brand new 3.3 starting issues

Ok here is what my problem is. I recently bought a new 3.3 and converted it into a bump start system. Today when i tried to start it, it would turn over. Its getting fuel because it was coming out the exhaust. I cleared that flood. Should i try a new glow plug? The one that I was using is an old one. If so which plug should i get? im using 20% fuel.

The motor didn't even sound like it was going to start. I heated with a heater gun. What do you all think i should try next? all suggestions available.

    Help!!

    Thanks for all the help

    Thanks

Is it an engine you rebuilt?
If yes, may be the piston is backward.

If no, make sure the glow plug light with your glow plug ignitor.
Other than that it sound like tuning.

It syas in the manual that the higher your elevation the richer the fuel mixture should be.

If you are at high elevation, you should lean the mixture for proper operation but this should not prevent the engine from starting. Make sure your EZ Start battery is fully charged, warm up the engine with the heat gun until you can only touch it for a few seconds. (approx 160F) Then give it another try. If the engine does not show any signs of firing a few seconds after fuel reaches the carb, stop cranking and check the glow plug to see if it is glowing brightly. Continuing to crank the engine will result in a flooded engine, severe wear on the roller clutch and starter shaft, and a dead EZ Start battery.
Speed costs money, how fast do you want to go?

if, like you said, you're using a bump box, in addition to swapping to a new glow, make sure that your glow starter is good............just hold a glow plug with some pliers while sticking it into the glow strrter. the plug should glow brightly.....

i live in loveland , co and use 3230 traxxas plugs and they work great. yesterday i was outwith my revo finnally and was 5.25 turns out on my HSN. with a Vantage pipe and it ran great. wow it is freakin cold here though. that could be your problem after cahanging the glow plug start it inside first if you can.

If you're trying to get it running and there's fuel coming out the pipe, try leaning out the LSN. Tuning for the cold can be a pain though, like chitimes29 said it needs to be really rich. I ran my Nitro Rustler in 0 degree weather once at almost exactly 5500 ft. and it was waaaay out, like 5-6 turns out on the HSN.

OK i figured the problem out. The starter wheel on the bump box was turning the motor over the wrong way. I switched polarities on the motor and it fired right up.

    Thanks for all the suggestions

i dont think you richen the fuel mixture because the air is less dense so there isnt much going into engine so then you cant give it to much fuel
