cool...i'd just give it a once over and check everything out on it, ie: make sure all the screws are tight, and check and see if any parts on it might be damaged and replace them as needed...and you should be good to go...if you want some info on nitro tuning etc. let me know...good luck with your jato!!!

***some advice: don't go all crazy with the WOT passes until you get used to the speed of the jato, and be sure to have plenty of room to stop!...it accelerates way faster than it stops thats for sure...

    edit:
here is where you can find the manual cuda_tmaxx mentioned below...

The first thing you should do is read the manual. If it did not come with one, traxxas has them all posted.
I tried being reasonable, I didn't like it.

Yea put your finger over the pipe and try to start it for like 5 seconds I think or till the gas gets all the way to the carb. Then make shure to break it in.

Glow plug might be bad. They are like $5. But I don't think any hobby shops are open today so you are going to have to wate. It also might be it isn't warm, blow dry the head for like 2 minutes and try and see if it stays alive.

I got it started. I guess it was a christmas miricale. I didnt think it could go that fast.

Its just when i accerlerate it starts to slow down then it takes off. I think it just needs to be tuned better.

When it does that I think the lsn is not tuned but I am not shure. You can check it. When it is warmed up pinch the fuel line by the carb and it should take 3 seconds to turn off. If it takes more you need to lean it and if it takes less you need to ritchen it. I think that is how you do it.

your best bet would be to get a few extra glow plugs when you can, just incase you blow one...and maybe you might want to reset it to factory settings and start tuning from there, so you can begin learning the tuning process from the start...nitro engine tuning is kind of like an art, tricky at first but once you start getting the hang of it, it gets allot easier...just be sure to read the following carefully so you get a better understanding of the nitro tuning process, and be sure to read the manual for your jato as well...well on to factory settings and some tuning info...

a general "rule of thumb" when tuning and you lean out your HSN, you have to richen your LSN...this is because when you lean out the HSN it restricts the flow of fuel to the LSN, hence you have to richen the LSN to maintain a proper air/fuel mixture & reliable idle...and same applies when when you richen your HSN, but (opposite direction) you lean out the LSN to maintain the proper air/fuel mixture...so w/that said always remember reset carb to factory settings (<-- Click!) when your tune is way off and start re-tuning from there...in the following links there are "tuning guides" for nitro engines...they have really good info in them to aid you in the tuning process...and as for tuning yes the 2.5 & 2.5R & 3.3 are all tuned the same way...incase anyone was wondering...and always begin tuning after you have run through 1/2 of a tank of fuel to ensure the engine is at normal operating temp, and to prevent the dreaded 1/2 tank lean bogging...use a temp gauge for double checking your tune (if one is available, i find the Duratrax FlashPiont (<-- click!) works very well)...and DO NOT tune for a specific temp...ONLY use the temp gauge to make sure you stay UNDER 270 degrees...(Click! -->) Tuning Guide #1, Tuning Guide #2 & Tuning Guide #3 (<-- Click!)...and finally here is another usefull tip, you can "read" your glow plugs to verify if your tune is good or not...and as for "reading glow plugs"...you should do it after you have ran 2-4 tanks on a fresh plug...then take it out and "read" it...here is some more info on reading glow plugs (<-- click!) with illustrations...and it would be a good idea to bookmark these links for future reference incase you need them, they have allot of great info in them...the last one even goes through finding air leaks and getting that last percentage of the "perfect" tune on the second page of it...good luck!!!...

Make sure you check your motor mount hexes after each run. Save you alot of spurs. That is one of the first lessons I learned. Run it a little rich if you do not plan on racing it.

Thanks for all the info. It stopped raining here so in about an hour my friend and i will go drag race. he has a O.S T-Maxx and a HPI viper

His truck is the king of hour nebior hood. My friends and i race a championship to see whose the king. He was the only one who had a nitro car so he could easily beat my xl5 rustler, my brothers xl5 pede, my friends Team Associated buggy and my two other friends team losi buggies.

The point of king of the neighbor hood is for the non-kings to buy you a part for your car with thier money together.

It may sound stupid but if 5 people give you 5 dollars it can help you.

lol yea but do you think he would find out if he had two fuel lines and they both don't go the tank or the carb? Here is what you do if he has a fuel filter, simpally pull the line off the filter and it looks like it fell off on its own. Jk, how would you start it with a non-complete fuel line?
