Tower Hobbies have discontinued them, so it sounds like there could be a new one on the way. No shops in the UK seem to have them either.
i seen 2 in the market place ,used but good deals none the less.

The electric 4Tec isn't in the new Video Vault either. So unless Traxxas is just redoing some videos for the 4Tec, I wouldn't buy an old one. I'd probably wait and see if they'll put anything new out. Or just go to the Market Place or eBay, I suppose. You can always find a good deal at either place if you look.
At first I was saying that Tower Hobbies just discontinued them because they weren't the best sellers. The fact that they're not in the new Video Vault leads me to believe that they might just be gone once Traxxas runs out. We'll see, though. I definitely could be wrong, but I more so hope that I am right and we'll see a new 4Tec sometime in the next year or so. Maybe that would make this place a little more active.![]()

I think if they released a VXL tec with some 3.3 spec upgrades in it that it would be a hot seller. I see many people looking for fast electric TC's but there's nothing really out there. I would say something made tough to bash because there is already a saturation of race spec TC's in the market but nothing besides boring RTR's for the basher market.
Some things are just meant to make us wonder.
im selling one with alot of parts and stuff, check it out in the marketplace
my local hobby shop has a couple
I am thinking Traxxas is going to update it.
Agree with slowenufs sig wheres the new 4 tec?
I'm thinking they'll make an entire new car, or hope so. the 4-tec has been around forever and putting a VXL in it wont make it win races

I really don't see Traxxas concerned about their electric cars winning races. Of course their cars are raceable, I just got home from the race track with my bandit. But I don't think Traxxas cares if the 4-tec can compete with the TC5. They're not into racing anymore, at least on the electric side. And as for a new 4-tec, I don't think it will happen being that touring car popularity has declined throughout most of the country.Originally Posted by I know pi!
the e-tec is the only model that they have not yet updated, so i think that they will be updating it soon. ill bet that they try to sell out of em' and then they release the updated version a lil while after... we have some sort of evidence of that they may make one, and i dont see too much reason why they shouldnt... i believe that it will bring a lot of attention to these forums as well. i guess that we will just have to wait and find out...

Ill disagree with dirt oval. I dont think traxxas will right off the 4-tec or at least tc's in general. I believe they will either redesign the tec or make something completely new. But I personally hope they just do a revamp solely for the purpose that I can upgrade my tec without having to buy a new car.
Yeah I really hope they do that I dont want the tecs to die out. It is really poor technology for how far they have come in the last 2 years. There is no reason to not update it. They might just make a whole new car. They dont like to tell people what they are working on though.![]()
