    Any good?

Is this motor any good? Will it give me more power and speed out of my Bandit (it has a Stinger)?

If it's all you can afford it's a good budget motor... But I wouldn't get one because it has 24 degrees timing and that would mess up you ESC if you use reverse alot.. I would get 19 or 21 turn motor if you want better speed/torque.

Well can someone reccomend me a good stock motor with less than 18 turns (because of my ESC) preferably at Tower Hobbies?

You sure? It's a Duratrax IntelliSpeed Auto Sport with forward/reverse, it says it can only handle 18 turns or less.

Get something like a 19-turn and a 24-tooth pinion gear. That would make things a little faster and would still be within the limits of your ESC.

How do you know how much timing it has? Am I not seeing it? I checked Team Orion's website and all they say is that it has "fixed timing." They don't give a degree number. Then again... I didn't look too hard to find it, so I might have missed it.

I have not seen a stock motor that DOESN'T have 24 degrees timing.

That is not a stock racing motor, though. It's what Orion calls a "budget modified." Mod motors shouldn't have that much timing...

Get a Team Orion Method R 19 turn. It's a decent motor if your on a budget. The Method has locked timing at 0 degrees if my memory serves me right. If your not on a budget get a Team Orion Formula Pro BB 19 turn.

I'm not on a budget it's my stupid ESC thats limiting me. I might as well save up and buy a different ESC so I can get like a Titan 12T or something.

    Thanks for the help everyone!

nah a 19 turn motor is GREAT for a Rusty!! stick with the ESC, its fine but ya lemme reccomend a Method R motor [it has adjustable timing and you can actually take off the endbell to clean comm and brushes and the rest of the motor, unlike the Method] or a Formula Pro BB, theyre around the same price, i have a Method R and its like the best motor on the planet :P

A 27 turn is going to be sllloooowwwwww in a rustler. Check into a Team orion 15t pro bb motor. But your going to need a new esc unless you have an xl5 or better.

The Method R is SV2, personally i have seen no [or so little i didnt notice] difference between the 2...... 19 Turn SV2 motor is what you NEED, be sure to get the Ball Bearing version tho!

If you have to get a new esc and all (and you want to stay with brushed) just get the xl-5.

And get like... either a 17 or 15 turn Team Orion Pro BB motor.

OK I've been doing some other research on motors and with all the options for different things with different turns, for off road, on road, and oval to be honest with you motors make my head spin. Can my Duratrax IntelliSpeed Auto Sport Forward/Reverse handle a like 19T modified motor even though it says its for 18 turns or less stock motors? What could make it only for stock motors? I've been trying to find a good motor but all I'm finding is awesome motors that are horrible on run time and motors that are good on run time but aren't really any better than stock. Can someone reccomend me a motor that will be good on run time, reasonably fast on road, have a lot of power off road (off road is my favorite thing, so I need a lot of power) and is within my ESC's limits? Will the Method 19T do all this? Sorry for the long post and for all the questions.

    Thanks,
    Sam

Get a Team Orion Formula pro-BB 19 turn motor. It will be a great motor. I also like the sv2 brush technology because it gives you about 30 runs without having to worry about brushes.

Yeah I was drooling over those Team Orion motors earlier today () but will my ESC handle it?

If your esc can handle 18 turns and up then it should have no problem with a 19 turn.

It says 18 turns and up stock motors, which is why I'm concerned it won't work. But I don't see why a modified motor won't work when a stock motor will, is there any reason it shouldn't work?

I would think that it would work. and if not then you have an excuse to get a new esc. If you don't want to try it then e-mail Duratrax and ask them.

Yeah good idea I'll email Duratrax if I don't do that and it doesn't work then yeah it's a good excuse to get a better ESC like I've been thinking of doing.

    Thanks for the help!

Well im going to resurect this post, and i just wanted to say that stock motors are only 27 turn, so obviously you can run modified if your ESC can support 18 or less or whatever, so just get one of the Orion SV2 motors, 19 turn of course, and it will give you wonderful run time and a bit faster than stock..........

Yes the Duratrax ECS can handle the 19 turn motor. The limit it 18 turns. So that means it can handle motors from 27 turns (stock) to 18 turns. or 18 turns and up. Up meaning more turns.

Stormer Hobbies is having a sale on Orion Orbital 2R Mach Mod motors. For about 10 bucks.

As for a motor that will be good on run time. The hotter the motor is (less turns) the shorter the run times will be.
