    If you want your brushes to last longer you would want hard ones, but that would put more wear on the comm. If you wanted less wear on the comm get softer ones but you will go through them faster. Or medium is in between.

    speed gems motors dont eat brushes though. i have had mine for 2 months and just now starting to think about new brushes. it also depends on what timing u r running

    a hard spring puts more pressure on the brush and comm, this causes more wear on both parts.

    they have the stock springs. why would i want to change them

    you would change them becuz they wear out and becuz u need a different stifness if you change brush compounds.

    The stock springs will work fine just so long as they are not bent or anything.
