    red springs

I just got the traxxas red springs for the stampede at my LHS. they look good and all but they don't make the truck rebound. The sticker that was on it said it was for emaxx and tmaxx, could that be why its not rebounding
It can't be the oil either, I re-oiled the shocks when I got the springs.

The Traxxas red springs are just really soft by nature. When I first got my E-Maxx, it could hardly have a 1" of ground clearance after full compression, the springs are so soft.

what springs did you have before? the reds are softer than the xl-5 white springs.

the red (2.5 rate springs) are great for racing with a little preload. for general bashing, you may want something a little stiffer, or the traxxas progressive springs.

By the scientific method of using my finger, the reds are softer than the old stockers which were black.

I run Light blue trinitys in the rear and Black rears up front most of the time when Im jumping

I run reds in the front and whites in the back. I had reds in the back and it sagged too much.

Will the reds do ok in the front since they are really made for the longer rear shock or T-Maxx shock?

I'd stick with the correct springs sizes, personally.

It really isn't worth the money, It isn't. As you can see in the picture the red springs in the front are too long but I put them in there and I'm not gonna change 'em.

Haha sorry about using a web cam. It's faster than using a regular digital though.

It rebounds okay, but you really have to push it. All it really does is keep the front end up I bought it so that in grass my 'pede rides higher and gets though the grass more easily. Other than that it's just a waste of money in my opinion I bought two sets (4) of them so I figured that I should use them.

Ya I broke my xl-5 esc putting those front shocks in. I slipped with the screw driver and broke the little button on the esc with the screw driver. I have to start it like this now:

There is like a 9 page thread in the Alley about cooleo. It's quickly becoming a "must read thread" along with the famous "how to be come a moderator".

I know, I understant why there is a 9 page thread about him being a moderator, he helps everyone, and not just in the stampede forum, he has many other traxxas products. I wonder if I will ever be a moderator, It would be nice, but I don't think I'll ever make it.

they are, and I just reoiled my shocks, I may put some of the spacers in it to stiffen them up.

I have the red springs on the rear shocks of my Stampede and 60-wt oil (never ask a female LHS employee for advice ) and I don't have any problems with sagging or rebounding. Also, according to my "calibrated finger" test, the reds aren't hugely different than the whites. I suppose they don't have to be to make a difference, though.

if your stampede came with shock adjusters[the're black]try using them.the shocks may be a little stiffer but it will rebound almost all of the way.good luck!
