Sub C battery pack for the receiver

Anyone tried a custom Sub C battery pack (6 or 7.2 volts @ 4200mAh or else) for the Revo 3.3 receiver? Making them sit near the front shocks or something like that?

How long are you guys having on the battery pack that comes with the truck?

    Thanks!

A 6-cell sub-c pack would be huge. I run a 2200mah AA pack that I made myself. Works great. I have it mounted above the front shocks.

its pretty unneccissary, and could damage the servos. most are only made for a maximum of 6v

You could easily run a 7.2v pack. All you need is a voltage regulator. They cost about $20. The extra weight and bulk wouldnt be worth it. To me anyway.

I guess you can run it if it's 6 volts, gonna see if my dad can get me a regulator cheap then I can just buy a 7.2 volt battery. this would be a good mod if you have the FOC you can take off the recoever box and mount the battery to the chassis, I think I'll mess with that right now

so you use that to convert 7.2 volts to 6? I will also need an adaptor from sub c connector to reciever, so if my dad can I'll have him help me he mmight be able to get them cheaper looks too expensive for me LOL I have like 5 bucks now. so I'll try to get the plugs and have my dad help me wiht the regulator, already got the set up made I'll post pics sometime later

that seems a bit extreme, i don't think
you're gonna be happy with the sub-c
setup. you using a trx charger or do you
have a good cycler???? i have no problems
with my receiver pack, but i cycle it after 4
tanks with my hobbico accu cycle elite.
its worth it over a new pack, and it can charge
your 6-cell packs too, or any other pack u need
charged. i can't see going sub-c for the radio.

Thanks for your reply guys. I can't wait to get my Revo (it is supposed to be here today or tomorrow).

Oops, I think I got that wrong. I meant a 4 cell (which is 6 volts) sub C pack.

    What do you think?

A 4 cell pack would only be 4.8v you will need 5 cells to get to 6.0v.
