Hi all!!
I have a problem. My friend has a scooter and it leaks fuel through the air filter. What is the problem? Is the carburetor bad??
Thanks for help.

gravity+siphon effect=my guess
Anyone else?
how much does it leak? does it only happen while running? what kind of engine is it?
My Go-Ped did that a couple times, until I figured out that sometimes the fuel tank is still under pressure after the engine is stopped. Now whenever I'm done riding I loosen the cap to let any pressure out, then I close the choke. BTW it's an old Bigfoot model with a Zenoah G23LH.

What kind of scooter is it? If the carb has a float and it sticks open it can leak fuel out the throttle body.

i beleive the zenoah engines are diaphagm type carbs. may be wrong though i havent seen one in years.
a carb is a carb, a throttle body is a throttle body, throttle bodys are on injection. other wise carbs are just jets and a float.Originally Posted by johnny5c
