I should check out a Hobby Town if I can ever find one not to far away. They sound like they've got pretty good people working in them!

Glad to hear that your truck is up and running again!

kinda bummed with our hobbytown, just took out our only local track, and it seems at ours unless you spend a ton of cash on a nitro, they do not need you as a customer, anyway, welcome back to the hobby!!

My LHS is OK. They didn't know there was a 90 tooth spur for the Rustler even though they had that spur in stock.

I don't think it's a big deal if a lhs doesn't know all the part numbers, etc. for a specific model of car. There's a lot of cars out there, can't know them all inside out. I judge a lhs based on their general knowledge, and willingness to search/find a part. I'm lucky in that the one lhs I mostly deal with has a young guy (well, young to me) that knows his way around Traxxas vehicles.

Hobbytown has quite a few different types of hobby they look after and I am sure it takes years to become all round knowledgable. I was only able to talk to one guy that had RC car knowledge. He has gone back to school. I now find a lot of info from this forum. Thanx Guys

I too, been experiencing similar, if not exact, situations with my LHS. Fortunately, not all the employees there are rude. At least two of them are very helpful, but unfortunately, they also know the least about electric cars and would still have to ask the rude guys. The rude guys would just say to them that if they can't find it, then they don't have it....and that's without even trying to look it up in their computer. One time I called on the phone to ask about the aluminum idler gear, and the guy said they don't have such a thing. That same day, I went in and saw a bunch of it on their wall. I bought it anyway because I was desperately in need of one.

The other bad thing in my situation is that they do have a fairly good selection of Traxxas parts with reasonable prices and are open 7 days a week, and located about two blocks from my work. I just wish they weren't so prejudice.
