    Unhappy drive train problems (help!)

    hey i don't know whats going on here, but last night i went out to drive my sport around the yard for a bit and the first thing that was weird was that when i started it the motor and spur were spinning the right direction but my tires were going backwards (it did this twice when i restarted it.) then after a while it was like my drive shafts had fallen off because the motor started rapping up but i wasn't going no where. but when i checked both shafts were fine. anyone got some ideas?

    you said that the spur gear looked like it was turning the right way, which way was it turning? you engine could have been running backwards. did you take the tranny appart and mess with the diff, if so you could have installed it wrong. as for the drive shafts your output yolks might be stripped or to loose (if you took the tranny appart they might be loose ). try tightening the grub screws, if they keep spinning they are stripped out and you will need some new ones. i sugest upgrading to the steel ones ( if you can find them ), or get cvd's ( if you get cvd's you will need the ones for the nitro stampede ).

    no there's no blue smoke, and no i haven't had the tranny apart. the spur gear was spinning forward like it is suposed to, and if i slowly roll the car forward when i start it than the whole spinning backwords thing never happens which makes no since to me because i would figure if my tires were going to spin backwards they would do it no matter what. as for stripped yokes, i allready have cvd's on it. no i don't have a slipper clutch. could something be striped in the trany? whats most common?

    never mind with this guys. i was going to tear into the tranny when i noticed some metal shavings. i had forgotten to lock tight the grubs on one side and they came loose just enough to where when i gave the car gas the yokes slid on the shafts and basically sheared part of the left one off luckily i had the yoke adjusted out to about as far as i could so i had plenty of room to move it back.

    let this thread sink.
