    Second report on Foam Tires.

Well.. I actually ran it again since I fixed the throttle...

Only about 1/3 of a tank though...

    Report:

TONS OF SPEED... Holy... NO SPIN...

Tires showing wear though, current outside time and temp:

    4/1/07 3:09PM 81 degrees.

    Throttle kept locking up. Reason:

Rx Pack was low on power, will be done charging tomorrow.

    Will take pictures later.

    Here are pics.

Note: The outer edges of the tire are being squished inwards, the FR tire is starting push off the wheel edge.

the reason why your tires are wearing a little is because your camber is WAY off. they should be wearing evenly throughout the tire....these are coning.

check that, and you should see an immediate improvement.

Umm... so you are saying to make the arms flat and make the toe in straight?

Also, for rear camber... what camber link do I buy?

nooooo....when you're drag racing, or just on the street you want your tires as vertical as possible......the top turnbuckles on both front and rear are used to adjust the camber. make it so the tires are vertical. you can even use something like a book to measure it against to make sure its spot on.

The only thing is the Camber int he rear which are facing like /===[ ]===\

Thing is... My fronts... they are like coning out both ways if you look at the center lines....

Those pics were taking from overhead... I really don't know hos I'm suppossed to do this.. I know how to adjust them.. but my suspension is so soft, I don't know how the tires touch when going fast...

squat the truck down so the drive shafts are perfectly horizontal...that's the measurement you need to take.

Jato75, My toe-in is 0 degrees... It has to be... They are completely vertical, the rear wheels/tires.

It has to be my turning, when I turn, i'm going around 25-40...

your toe in has to be atleast 3 degrees, and if your camber is at 0 degrees, then you're going to have to tinker with your suspension set up some. I'm wondering if you're running the lowest suspension setup for the tires...that will also help.

your fronts were definately off, and coning is a telltale sign that your suspension is in need of adjustment...fix those first, and make sure you rotate your tires frequently .

when you have your suspension set up perfectly, the foams don't hardly wear at all.

I'm still using a set i've had for months......but be patient...getting foams tuned takes a few tries, but it will pay off.

    Oh geez... Ok here..

I have the suspension at the stock.. I never messed with it till today..

I really can't tell how bad it is as everything is vertical, and the rear camber is in wards...

The front... I fixed the front toe on the right one, so it's pointing straight ahead at 0 degrees... Both front wheels are at 0,0 degrees... so..

I don't know what i'm doing wrong or how to fix it.

All I know is I hear to fix the rear camber, you need to buy camber links.

aggggggggggggggggg......LOL....you don't need camber links...those are your turnbuckles....you may need to get a new toe bar. I think you're confusing the 2.

Alright... Scratch everything i've said.. because For the past.. I don't know how long, I been calling toe the camber and the camber the toe....

    SO!

I need to fix my camber.. Yes.. I know... But like I said... my front and rear camber is at 0 degrees...

My front camber is at 0... or so it seems...

and my rear toe in like a 3 degree toe-in... Other wise their camber seems and looks like 0...

Yeah.. you beat me to mentioning I confused the two..

ok....now that everything is at 0 degrees...make sure...grab something like a right angle that looks like this L and set it up next to the tire....if there is any room in between it's still off...if it's straight...you got the adjustment right.

now make sure your front toe in is at 0 degrees and then run it again after rotating your front tires. and then your 2 rear tires.

you should have a better result...

also...lighten up on the traction compound....I applied 4 coats to blue foams and it was 50 degrees.

you have 5 on greens and it's at 80 degrees....you shouldn't need anymore for a week!

I think you have a little too much bite.

Oh... Ok, thank you very much man... Yeah.. There is a BUT LOAD off streaks and lines of that compound up and down the street... lol..

But I think the heat is burning it off?

    I Dunno...

But I will rotate my wheels... and then see if I can adjust this stuff..

So the rear camber should just stay stock?

Hard for me to adjust my stuff.. especially since I run both on and off road. But right now, it's strictly on since I don't have a usable off-road set.

I don't think the heat is burning it off, i think you might have put a little too much traction compound on. But no biggie....

that's why your tires were starting to wear a little rapidly..too much traction compound ....you probably needed half of what you used...maybe even 1/4...i forgot you lived in the desert. my bad...

anyway, as much as you used, you might never need it again! lol.

    take care.
