What up with the body mounts?

Hey guys. I have a problem. I have been searching for round body mounts for quite some time now and haven't been able to get them. Whats the deal with them? Did they make a switch to the square ones while I was sleep or something? If anyone has some type of info on where I can find them or if its anyone that has them I will be glad to buy them!

Square ones were used on one of the new T'Maxx's (2.5R I think). You still can get round posts, try Traxxas themselves. if not, you need the new shock towers to fit square.
    Good luck

I just switched my towers and mounts over to the square style. It was less than $20 for the two towers and the front and rear body mounts.

For those of us with Aluminum towers that's a bit hard... I guess my next set will be modified from 1/10 street cars!

i've been searching for the round ones as well. i even posted on the marketplace forum, and got no bites. i have a few extra new sets that i had to buy from ebay for my UE racerX shock towers. traxxas discontinued them, and now i've been trying to find as many new 'extras' as possible.

make sure you buy new ones, and not used ones. i broke another rear set this weekend and went to replace it with a used set i bought off ebay, and they were already cracked in the same place as where mine just cracked...

Slightly veering off topic... So is the new shock tower stronger? Or does it just use square mounts?

Sorry, by new shock towers I meant the Square hole ones. Have Traxxas made 'grey' shock towers??

I bought a pair by mistake(don't ask) they seem more robust than the older ones.

Or you could just go with an RPM set-up and quit breaking them. That was one of the weakest and most frusterating areas of my truck. I broke one shock tower literally seconds after I installed it. Since I replaced the stock stuff with RPM, I've never had a problem, and believe me, I've tried.

It's my understanding that the round shock towers and body post are out for good according to LHS. If I bust body mounts again I'll have to get new shock towers also or try to find them online. Maybe some truth to it since BuyTraxxas has been out of stock on round post and round shock tower for months now.

My whole thing is that why do that when someone probably has some still.

Yeap I found a used round set of towers and body post on ebay. As long other folks keep upgrading I think you'll find some.

I had the same issue. I just bought a set of pro-line tall body mounts and cut them. Works just like stock.
