The pro-line silverado does not fit the Stampede. I bought one and threw it out. The rear wheels openings don't line up with the wheels.

Pro-line use to make a pro-line silverado just for the stampede, but discontinued it a year or more ago. They turned up on ebay for awhile, but have not seen them in awhile. I had a couple. IMO, best pede body ever made. Wish I still had one. The lunsford sticker has nothing to do with the body other than someone bought some lunsford parts, got the sticker, stuck it on there.

I just can't believe proline.... I guess because of licensing fees they are more and more going to generic bodies like the crowd pleaser and I can understand that part. What I can't understand is the fact that the Traxxas Stampede has got to be just about the best selling RC in America and yet proline makes 1 body for the thing. That's if you consider the hummer an option which I personally don't, so that makes a total of zero choices for me. I hate buying a $30 maxx body to try to ghetto fit the pede as well. I wish proline would release a new pickup body specificly for the pede. We could all petition, but I doubt that'd accomplish much.

BTW, I need a durable body, I spend a lot of time on my lid. With mamba arriving later in the week, doubt I'll flip it any less, LOL

atomic, makes some good maxx bodies that fit the pede
    prepainted
In addition, they also discontinued the rustler f-150 body, that every one practicly now owns... not a smart marketing desision, especialy with the new xl-5's out.

Several of Parma's bodies will fit a 'Pede, the detail isn't as good as Proline though...

    That's a Pro-Line 'Pede body.

Atomick bodies are now being marketed as Venom bodies. They are very thin...

So who makes a really good quality pede body? I've noticed the thin plastics too, but would rather spend the extra cash for some thicker plastic that will withstand hard bashing.

Proline and most Parma bodies are usually pretty thick. Most bodies are thicker than the Venom bodies that's for sure!

They are actually .040" so it is very comparable to Parma bodies. There weakness is do to the fact that they have no windows, only a window insert.

The roof is very weak, as one could imagine.

If you spend a lot of time on your lid don't waste your money on an Atomik body. They look good but are not durable at all. The roof of my F350 Atomik body is being held together with zip ties and Gorilla tape. I am going to order a Pro-Line in the next couple of days to replace my Atomik. I just can't decide between the Desert Rat or the Bushwacker. I have never painted a body before but, I would rather have one that lasts than one that looks perfect.

    Well check the specs

    PL Jato Silverado Body:

    Length: 16" (408mm)
Width: 5.7" (144mm) at front wheels, narrowest point
6.2" (157mm) at rear wheels, widest point
    Height: 3.75" (95mm)
    Thickness: .040" (1.02mm)

    PL Stampede Hummer H2 Body:

    Length: 14 15/16" (379mm)
    Width: (behind front wheels) 5 7/8" (149mm)
    Width: (behind rear wheels) 6 1/8" (156mm)
    Height: 4 1/2" (114mm)

It probably will fit with some trimming.

With the Stampede you can just about fit any body you want with a little work. As for it looking good, is subject to your own opinion. I have a Parma Gravedigger body, as well as HPI Viper body and they both work well. I also have a Radio Shack Avalanche, and a Nikko Hummer body. They all needed a little work to fit and they have worked for me... I remember a member on this forum that made a body out of a paint roller tray, I don't remeber who, but it worked for him... It looked pretty cool too!!

I've seen the silverado used on a flm pede in the gallery.
Doesn't have to be a chevy, but they discontinued all the good ones!!! I want a good durable body, by the way, if you get a maxx body, there made from 0.60 lexan, much stronger and better for bashing then most pede bodies.

If you want a good looker and dont mind a tall mount mod, the HPI Jeep Rubicon for Savage wheelbase is close. I will mount one after I go "wide"
with flm. I think I seen a green one in a magazine but dont remember which. It looked awesome but the fenders will be over the tires not between them so must mount it higher and im not"wide" yet.

Do must Maxx bodies work on the pede? I've seen many Maxx bodies that I like and have thought about using one of those.

Question if anyone knows about those proline JATO bodies. Do they look the same on both sides? Or, are they bulged out on one side for the exhaust like some other nitro bodies?

Well, here are the Chevrolet bodies I used.
For a Silverado on my wide pede this Protoform 190 mm worked well. It's too wide to use on a standard width pede though.

For my other pede this 72 Chevy body fit pretty well. By the way it is .050" thick.

The silverado is widened and the body raised about an inch and a half. The 72 is on a stock size pede.
