Anyone know where to find a strong servo or cheap metal parts?

I recently bought a stock traxxas steering servo, which was loose before i put it in the truck. The first thing the truck did was run a couple feet off course and hit the curb. I broke the front left bulkhead and the lower a-arm from the same side.

I need a servo that isnt loose when i buy it. anybody have any other problems with loose servos like that?

and where can i find cheap metal parts? im tired of breaking plastic parts.

one more thing: what the heck is that little plastic bar between the two steering arms that the turnbuckles connect to? It is underneath the front skid plate.

any help would be great, thanks.
I have 287 axle pins. PM me if you lost some.

For a servo, I use a Hitec 645MG(metal gear) which has been a great servo and has no problem turning even my Big Joes.

If you want alum. parts, your going to have to pay more to get good quality, the cheapest alum. bulkheads I know of are from ACNCM and Integy, usually it's good to stay away from Integy parts because their known to be weak, but I've heard that their bulkheads do pretty good. ACNCM's stuff is very beefy and heavy but from my experince with them, they seem to be very strong.

That peice on the steering is part of the bellcrank, I think it's called a tie-bar.

I have the Hitech 645mg i love it!! its an analog servo so you wont have to upgrade your radio or mod it so it has "EPA" others may tout the Bluebird. I have never used it, but understand it works well also

by metal i will assume you mean Aluminum. and by parts i will assum you mean bulkhead since thats what you broke. Traxxas makes nice Aluminum peices and are reasonably priced. others you may consider are FLM (they have a life time warranty), ACNCM is good, and Unlimited Engineering (aka UE, or Supermaxx). as bashin Maxxer15 stated stay away from Integy. all i have read about them is bad. poor fit and finish seems to be the major complaint, second would be integrety of the material itself.

I would not recommend metal Aarms unless you want These if you dont want to shell out $300 for titanium arms, i would replace them with either stock arms, or RPM arm (these also have a warranty)

For a decently strong maxx, your best off to get some of the better brands right from the start so you don't waste your money later.

Get a set of GA 7075 bulks, titanium hinge pins, RPM arms, Pro-Line steering system and RPM axle carriers. That will make for a pretty tough maxx.

I'd also suggest a NewEra 3 point roll bar and aluminum chassis rails with a center skid.

That's about $300 worth of stuff, but it's well worth it. It will save you breaking arms, bulkheads and servo's. Plus it will handle better with some of the parts. Nothing like peace of mind.
