    What servo are you running?

I know most of the Stampede's here are bashers, and dont need the specs of a racer. But I love overkill!!

I have the stock one still in now, BUT I may take my Ace digi(200 oz .1sec) out of my Jammin and try it in the Pede. If not i'll pick up a 5945. I will have to scrap the radio and put in my JR gear so I can set endpoints, I dont want to burn up my digis.

My guess would be most are running stock or 645's.

    Watcha' run?

Currently a Hitec 645. Once my JR 650 comes back from warrenty repair, it'll be replacing the 645.

I run a 645MG in my E-maxx, it's a great servo and I might try it in the 'Pede since my E-maxx is down, currently though I run the Futaba S3003...

I have a Cirus something... I have the same one in my Rustler as well, but I think they're discontinued.

The hitec 645 is a very popular choice for the 'Pede...

I haven't replaced my stock servo yet. What is the advantage of replacing it? Should I do it now or wait 'till my stock one dies. If I wait for my stock one to die and replace it then, will I tell myself, "Man, I should of done this a long time ago?"

Do you guys get this one or this one?

The first one. I woundn't recomend running the second one with a stock radio. It is digital. With digital servos, it is best to run a radio with End Point Adjustment so that you don't burn it up.

Just a thought, a 625 would make a very good if not better choice than the 645. It is much faster, and still has almost 100 oz.tq. Not sure if you need a TON of tq in a 2wd. I just like overkill.

I run a JR Z590m. That's 85 oz. in. at dunno what speed. It seems to be plenty, though I haven't used many servos or raced in my day. So going by my experience the 625 would probably work great.

HMMMMM......would running a digi cut down on runtimes? How much of a draw would it be off the battery? My ACE servo really can kill a RX pack, more so than my JR8550 did.(seems that way) Does the servo get a good 6v from the esc?

It's probably better to have more torque on a monster truck... The difference in speed is less than a second anyway isn't it?

In theory, they'd draw more power I suppose, but any more powerful servo would do that really. If the ESC puts out 6 volts, I'd hope that the servo is getting most of that power.

    - my motors can't be "properly geared"

I think my Cirus is a CS60... Both of them. They're the discontinued clear ones. Not the fastest or most poweful, but they're metal geared and plenty for a truck such as the Stampede.

I passed up on one of those on eBay, it was before I had my 'Pede though, so I did'nt have a need for it, now I wish I had got it.....

Well, the 645's seem slow to me. The 625 is much faster, and i'm not sure if you need as much tq when the front tires are not "driven". But I like MORE of tq and speed. The difference between .2 and .1 sec on a servo is a lot, may not sound like much, but on the truck its a bunch.

Yeah... They're neat servos. Like I said, they're not the fastest or most powerful, but they're metal geared and better than stock. Plus they're clear .

You just have to watch out for getting certain solvents on the case. They were discontinued due to case failures...
