    Technical Battery Question

What is the correlation between the MAH and the voltage of a battery? Doesn't the higher voltage decrease the need for amperage? Is there a simple rule like higher MAH equates to runtime and higher voltage means more speed? Thanks in advance for your help.

A 6 cell battery will be rated at 7.2 volts. There is no direct relation to the mAh rating. The mAh is the capacity or run time. The old batteries back in the day were about 1200mAh. The latest best battery is up to 4200mAh ! And a few are higher. The 4200 is well over 3 times the run time as the 1200. Now you can easily get 15-20 minute run times with today's NiMH packs. The higher the voltage, the faster the truck will run. So a 7 cell battery is 8.4 volts, an 8 cell battery is 9.6 volts etc. Not all ESC's can handle 7 cells though, most of the industry is based of the standard 6 cell/7.2 volt pack. If you plan to use a 7 cell ask the gang here, as come changes may need to be made with gearing etc.
