New Revo gearing photos on the Jato 3.3

Ok,

I've been getting alot of PM's regarding the Revo 36/19 combo on the Jato...it is possible, with no modifications, and here is the proof....

As for the new top end, it was INSANE! The whole set up cost me about 22 bucks. BTW.

It takes the stock gearing of 54/22 (2.45) and takes it to a 36/19 or a 1.89 gear ratio. So in the end it gives you massive top end.

What is the top end?? I don't have my onboard right now, it's at my father in law's house, but I'm guessing over 80. I'm hoping to get it back this weekend and get a documented speed to post. So at this point it's just a guess.

HMM.. i just put on the stampede 2.8 talons and it slows the truck down out of the whole i just got in a 58 and 56 spur to test and compensate for the taller tire, wonder how it will act with your setup??

I'm trying to get my father in law's video camera, but he's in Italy right now...when he comes back i'll definately post a video though..i might see if my digital camera could pick up a few sec of it.

jatoMonster--the clutchbell is not stock, it's from Robinson...the spur is the 36 traxxas makes...i left you the links in my last post.

I just got back from a huge parking lot run with my buddy and i clipped 82.7mph..(my buddy has a radar gun)... it took about a football field and a half to get up to speed, but it was awsome. I had to change my shift point and lean it out some, but i got there.....I wish i had my digital camera with me...atleast then i could have taken a pic of the radar.

when my father in law gets back from italy, i'll post a video.

also what are you doing to keep the front end down? I have been playing with fishing weights... (got that idea from the miami guys....)

I just ordered that clutch bell from Tower. With the Revo spurs of 36, 38, and 40 tooth, it should open up some real interesting doors for performance.

One thing I didn't see mentioned here was the pitch of the gears. The Revo takes a 1.0 pitch, while everything else from Traxxas takes a .8 pitch. So you can't mix and match between Revo and everything else. Strange move on Traxxas's part with the Revo...

I haven't had any part of it start to chunk off yet....this is my 2nd pair (i have a set on my other Jato) and i can't say enough for them...i think they are GREAT. The original set i have is about 3 months old with it being run every 2-3 days....they are a little smaller, which is good for me, but they stay together awsome. Hope that helps.

the take off seems like it's the same, it just takes me about 10 seconds to get to full speed as opposed to 7 sec or so. As to wheelieing, I never really have had a problem with it...i have my shocks set as soft as i can and i have it sitting super low.

I haven't had any real problems with the front lifting up that much...i have the shocks as soft as i can get them and i have it sitting really low. About the only thing i do on the high speed runs is put a small removeable wing (like the one on the rear)on the front of my body to help the aerodynamics a little.

You're right about that...they don't mix...the jato gears work at a .8 pitch and the revo at a .1....but it opens up like 3 or 4 gear combos using the revo gears. When i got the 19t clutchbell, i also bought all the other revo spurs i could find...I have 37,38, and 40

it's just the way the photo was taken..i've been running like that for a week and so far, no blown spurs at all. Also, if you look at the chassis photos, i still have plenty of room to move the motor if i wanted to, but it's perfect where it sits.....I just ordered the .26 last night....should be here by the end of next week.

Nope... I ended up taking it out and putting it into my new 3.3 revo

I put the 3.3 in the jato, but I am interested in using the revo spur/clutch on the jato to see if it'll run better. I am thinking that the smaller spur will help, but am not sure.

it's just a removeable piece of lexan (i use servo tape to hold it down so i can move it around when i need to) that looks alot like the tail wing but is a little longer and has a little more kick up.

sorry to dig up this thread from the ancient unknown... but, where did you get a 19tooth CB?

on buytraxxas.com, im only seeing a 14 15 16 and 17 tooth CB's for the revo.

im guessing the 24 tooth jato CB and the 36 tooth revo SG wouldnt work together because of the pitch, right? or is there a mod

The Revo gears won't work with the Jato gears...the revo are 1.0 pitch while the Jato gears are .8 pitch.

That is the lowest gear combo I've ever seen...with a 1.89:1 ratio, that was about as low as I wanted without taking too much from the acceleration....
I have used 36/19, 37/19, 38/19, and 40/19....36/19 produces SERIOUS top end.

BTW...BuyTraxxas.com won't carry the CB because it's a Robinson Racing product.

Right now, we're using Jato75's 19/36 combo on our Jato with the single speed. Results are very promising. It has really made the bottom end much more managable. Where we run, we don't have the room to utilize the top end the 2 speed would give us...and 1st gear in the two speed is low enough to waste the power there with spinning or wheelies. So the single speed with this gearing seems to be really good for us.

I want to thank Jato75 for his help in locating the 19T clutch bell.
