Rear shock tower brace
I've seen a few pics of your rides and have noticed some of you have a plastic brace attacted to your rear tower. Have any of you posted this mod. The brace looks similar in most cases... What did you use??? I race quite a bit and after upgrading top the integy tower, I moved my weakest link to the tranny. Of course changing a tower between heats is a lot easier than changing out the tranny.
Any help would be apperciated
since you are using a integy tower you should probably make a brace with aluminum. i made a brace for my truck but i still use the plastic shock towers, but i just took a small flat piece of aluminum and bent it to the top of the shock tower and to the back of the bumper and screwed it together. it works pretty good.
The Integy shock tower doesn’t seem to be a good deviation from the stock design. I have recently ordered the Golden Horizons one as its upper corners are linked, just like the original design:
This link between the upper corners could also serve as a base for bolting on the brace. You can see what I mean here:
BTW, I don’t need the Golden Horizons shock tower in addition to this brace for improved rigidity. To the opposite, the aluminium brace and the plastic tower would be a better combination for the tranny case. I need it for bolting on my future wing stay.
