    Exclamation 2.5 Jato wheelie

Hey I have a jato 2.5 and I really want it to do a wheelie. I have read all the post people say on wheelies and how to do them but I still cant do one. When someone says stiffen the rear supstention does that mean to get stiffer spring or just move the mounting spots for the shocks? I have my battery pack in the back. My slipper clutch is tightened up all the way. I read one somewere that said to reaverse your clutch shoes what do you do when you reverse it? As you can see I really need help please tell me what I could do to pop a wheelie.

    Thanks!,

stiffen the suspension means to either get stiffer springs or to tighten the shock collars so the springs compress; this will make the rear lighter and redistribute weight....also...do the same for the front ...that will lighten the load on the front and make wheelies much more likely...... reversing the shoes is literally just taking them off of the bell and turning them around....there is debate as to whether it actually works or not....I've never seen a difference. also use really light shock oil...like 20 wt. or something really light for the shocks... Let us know how it goes.

Reversing the clutch work, but you probably dont see a difference on the jato because its very light, i felt a difference on my revo with Picco .26 engine.
But on a 3.3 theres not a worthing difference.

Tuning will also help to do wheelie.

So use the preload on the shocks and raise them up? How much should I raise the front and the back up? Again thanks for the help!

that's really up to you....if you preload the shocks, you'll wheelie..changing the shock height will just increase the wheelie height....thus ...a result that might land you on the roof of the jato.(flipping over)...i've seen it many times.

So correct me if I am wrong your saying the the shock collers are the preloads? I have dirt hawgs in the rear. I have been trying to change the preloads it does not help. Do you think I am not geting enough traction? How much did you change yours? Thanks for the help!

Do you think that moving the shock mounting spots will help? My back shocks are moved the firmest spots. Do you think I should change my front shock spots too. thanks sorry I could not edit my post before.

Well if its tuned good and run 20%, just tighten the sliper a little and it should do them pretty easily....Should i change my "signiture" thingy? Will that get me "warn %"? Im new to the site rules and stuff.

I have a 2.5r with the dual chamber res in my Jato and running on Glad II and still very seldom get wheelies. The only time I get wheelies is when I hit second gear. Even in the grass it just spins. But I have a 3.3 T Maxx for wheelies.

I would think your sig would get ya some points. I would change it before you get them.

the shock mounting spots won't make much of a difference..you might have to go with stiffer springs if the adjusting the stock shock collars didn't work.

I'm just suprised that after all that you're not pulling wheelies. Maybe go to a set of revo springs(these are really stiff springs) or even revo shocks(I really like those)...they go right on the Jato, and are SUPER strong...I'm also wondering if maybe running thicker viscosity diff lube will help...you know like heavier diff lube to suggest a tighter diff....I run a locked MIP diff, and those are liscense for automatic wheelies. After that, I'm about out of ideas.

yeah, no doubt...you're not supposed to suggest any profanities even with exclamation points and such...they want this place totally G rated so everyone of all ages can enjoy.

My Jato won't wheelie either. Stupid tires don't have enough traction all it'll do is smoke the tires.

The front end is light enough that on power there is absolutely no steering response. Let off, turn, on power again.

I later gave up on wheelies and re-located the flat back to the center box for more on power steering and also to make it less likely to flip in the air. Far more controllable off jumps now.

But when I go off a bump it will wheelie like I said before how much did you change you shock collers. I have tryed changing the front shocks so the front end is rasied up all the way but no on demand wheelie. like i said before could it be I am not getting enough traction? my engine running temps are 230-245 F so I think I am tuned right. thanks again

Considering he said 230 to 345 I think its safe to assume he meant 245 and not 345.

Ok my friend has a revo and he let me have his old revo springs. So I put the green ones in the back and the white ones in the front i used the preload just a little bit and it still wont do a wheelie. Do you think my LSN is not tuned right I dont useally mess with it at all. My engine temps are 220-230 now what should I do?
    thanks!
