    Learned my lesson

Well this weekend I was pumped. I moved away from my family to accept a job in Ohio and took my Jato home for the first time this past weekend. Was all pumped up to let my dad and my girl friends dad to see the car and run it if they want. My father declined but the girl friends dad agreed. Ya he hit a bolder doing about 40 mph. After adding the damage up on the calculator dame to about 230 dollars. Car is junk and only a month old. Lesson learned... Don't let anyone drive your jato.

i'll second that....my buddy let his brother drive his in an open field and that was disasterous. He neglected to tell him not to make sudden left or right turns going almost 60 on super short grass.....about 10 cartwheels later...there was no more front end, a-arms and the shock towers were demolished.

My first rule of the Jato: Never let anyone drive your ride unless they agree to buy it if they break it...even your girl's dad.
My second rule of the Jato: First learn rule number one.

Sorry to hear that happend to you....Hope you get your wheels back together.

Yup thoes are the best rules. If anyone asks me to drive my Jato 2.5 i say "I don't think you want to because if you crash it your payin $450 so I can get a new Jato." (Even though the Jato cost about $370, I just want the extra money.)

I have let several people drive my jato, I have learned a trick: turn the throttle trim all the way down on the transmitter and the car will only go about 1/4 throttle. A child will not know the difference and a I just tell adults it is to get used to the way the car handles before driving it at top speed. I still have my 26 y/o brother driving it that way, every time he drives it he hits a car, curb, utility pole ect. and no broken parts yet.

ok heres what i would do if they want to drive make them give you a 400 dollar deposit.if they ask what its for say its incase you break the truck.if you dont break anything then you give them the money back.
lets say the broke the top plate you keep about 15dollars to replace it. thats what i would do.

So you would either have to find someone that carries $400 in their wallet, or have them write you a check? lol

i just dont let anyone drive mine period unless its my dad or someone thats driven one before. my dad let some kid drive his and he ran it into a pond. people think these things are just little simple little kiddy toys but they learn they arent when they hit the gas the first time and they take off so fast that they dont know what to do

Now thats a good idea. Hopefully I can have it back together because I am going home again this weekend and I want him to drive it again. So he's not scared of it I was just going to have him run it in a huge parking lot..

can you say lesson not learned the first time...... no way will I allow him to drive it again after what happened the first time. its time to say look I love you and everything...... BUT GET YOUR OWN!!!!!! he will learn to value it better. its not his money being spent fixin what has been broken. had to give my son this lesson as well. his jato still broken because he doesn't want to buy the parts to fix it so i jsut run my trucks at the track with him beside me watching . and no i'm not going ot buy the parts for him when he has a job to support his hobby. just as I do. by the way he is 16
