    Air filter oil question

    Hi all,
Anyone using K&N air filter oil on the STOCK air cleaner assembly? I have K&N air filters in my big boy toys (67' mustang, 71' Mach 1 mustang, 03' Sport-trac), so I have multiple cans of the air cleaner oil. I am running the 3.3 with the stock cleaner assembly but spraying the foam with the K&N oil and it seams to work well. Does anyone do this or know if it will "hurt" the motor or performance?

    John

the oil that you use for your air filter should be close to the same I know the manual says that if you are looking for oil to use that you can use air filter oil for recreational vehicles ex.. dirt bike, ATV, etc. so the filter oil for your car should work as well. If you look at the ingredients it's just MINERAL OIL. I do find that the TRAXXAS oil is kinda gooeyer than other oil cause I have duratraxx air filter oil as well and it's runnyer. If in doubt put a little extra on. and keep lots of sponges around so you always have a clean one to put in..

I use Amsoil ATV filter oil on all my R/C's and was told by my LHS thats it's the same mineral oil as the Traxxas stuff.

Hi qman, I also use K&N filter oil on my toys and also on my Jato. Blown small block in a '66 chevelle and a small block in a S-10. Good stuff. Bob

The K&N oil works great it won't hurt your motor at all wear wise or performance wise.
