when do you use a tires with really small "nubs" (i.e. Bow-Ties)? How about using tires with tall "nubs" (i.e. ProLine Dirt Paws or Trac-Ta-Gators)?
what does "loamy" mean? I've heard it used when describing track conditions.

You use smaller nubs when the track has very little loose dirt on it or the track gets so hard that you start to see a black groove in the surface (blue groove it is sometimes called).Originally Posted by pellis
Loamy means the track has alot of loose dirt on it and is more than just some loose powder. It is deeper and alot looser than just a little dust. Kinda like alot of motorcross outdoor tracks get with all that loose deep dirt in the corners. You need taller more aggressive type tires or taller nubs.
