    Strange modifications

Anyone ever do anything strange with their max?
...like adding speakers and a small working radio/mp3 player
(PSP speakers are small and audible)

-Add two disassembled maglites to the top
    (battery compartment under the body)

    -tank tracks over the wheels

can anyone think of any other weird mods?

how about roll bars so you can flip it and it would right itself??? that would be pretty cool.

i was also thinking neon lights under the chassis for night driving....

Just do a light system like I did on my Sledge Hammer last night. That works very well and looks great!

Anyway, hmm... Weird mods... I can't think of any good ones.

I don't know if this would be a weird mod; but when I was replacing my front turnbuckle, I didn't feel like taking the whole suspention apart, so I put a longer screw in backwards and a nut on it. I have a vid, but I don't know where it is on the internet anymore of a guy that put a flamethrower on an E-maxx.
Can anyone tell me the best way to dodge the jumping mailbox posts?

i mounted(hot glued) a s3003 servo with a small pulley mounted to a round servo horn, inside of the winch on a either a power wagon or 55 chevy body, cannot remember which one. using a 6 channel radio and modifying the servo to by removing the limiter inside i had a fully functional winch
I tried being reasonable, I didn't like it.

    Cool;

Are the LEDs bright enough to drive around with at night?

I have a buddy, and we want to night race with only truck mounted lights (like a Baja 1000 concept).

I don't even think that mine are LEDs. I tested them out last night and they worked well. That tail light I did worked great! I'm really glad I thought of that. Night racing would be really cool. Hmm... I could add some lights to my dad's and brother's trucks and head out to my track (Huron Outfitters Raceway).

You know... I've even got a servo that would work. Hmm...

    Here's an idea.

Ever see the Estes rocket ignitors?

Take a couple of those... solder a short length of wire to your motor terminals... the other end to the leads of the rocket ignitor, and attach to your favorite firework (s).

Soon as you goose the throttle, it'll send current through the motor... through your ghetto-rigged rocket ignitors, and touch off your firework.

Just an idea... would work fine provided that those rocket ignitors don't continue to have a short in them after they've been used.

You could also use steel wool.. just need to make sure the wires won't short out.

This sort of goes against the idea of being a "monster truck", but I've seen people slam Silverados and F-150s, give 'em a fancy paint job, slap on some Daytons and hook up hydraulics. Personally, I’d raise a truck any day before slamming it. So far, I haven't seen anyone do this with an E-Maxx, but I do believe it would qualify as a "strange modification".

    MX:

Do you run 4 battery packs in that thing? Looks like a lot of fun, but also looks like it would eat batteries for lunch!

Is there a conversion kit, or is this a home grown mod? If its a kit, could you post the link?

    Thanks

Its actually a pic from another Forum, I read the buildup, teardown, and rebuild of it last week. It is home grown. However, there is at least 1 company that I personally know that sells a mod for a 6x6. From what i understand, it uses stock motors, all it does it provide a new center diff, with a rear output, and an alum chassis extension. you have to buy/make/build a 2nd rear (bulkheads, shocks, turnbuckles etc..) it will run about 12-15mph. I also understand it is MURDER on the center driveline

Yes, Mrtallica is right, that is not mine, i just got the pic off of another forum. But I am working on one right now. I just gave a picture to show the basics of the 6x6. Gallimods Hobby has the conversion kits http://gallimods.com/post/ and there is also a company named Hilltop R/C. I dont think they are around anymore because they are really hard to find.
