    Keeping capacitators soldered

    Hey,
WEll every time i drive my 4x4 pede with Permax 600 motors, about 3 minutes into the run the capacitators come un soldered. What is up? The motors aren't that hot, and I'm doing a good solder job(or I think) what can I do to improve the solder joint?
    Thanks

Did you know that they already have 2 capacitors inside the can & don't really need any more?

Are they coming off of the can or the tabs?
If they're coming off of the can, then you probably just didn't sand/scuff the can enough when you soldered them on. You need to roughen it up a bit to get the solder to stick to it instead of just sliding off the smooth metal.
If they're coming off of the tabs, then something is very wrong. Either your soldering is very poor or the motor is getting much hotter than you think it is.

I did not know the new model of the Permaxx 600's had capacitators inside the can. It does need them, becuase the radio interference is pretty bad and cuts out the throttle channel alot once there off.
    Coming off the can.
I guess i will try scuffing it more, but i do alot.
What is the yellowish/blackish residue that is left on the can once they come off?

I know that they "yellowish/blackish" stuff is solder related, but am unsure of exactly what it is. I would like to know as well... I've seen it hear and there.

Flux. There shouldn't be any left between the solder & can when you're done soldering. Since it's still there, I'd guess that you aren't getting the can hot enough when you solder the capacitor to it.

Okay, I have seen some flux on some new motors I received from Traxxas last time. Thanks!
