Well I guess it had to happen sooner or later. I have a fully built carbon fiber/billet aluminum GorillaMaxx. I play a lot and I play HARD! My friends always think I am crazy to bash a $1,500 RC car but, thats what I built it for!

Yesterday I was out playing in the back yard. Nothing serious, just a few tiny jumps about a tool box high. Nothing like my top speed skate board park jumps, mind you! Well I noticed the gorilla didn't want to track straight but I figured I bent yet another tie rod. I hit the jump one last time and I had two separate parts going different directions!

Seems the ESC mounting plate broke at the bulkhead mounting points. That caused the rear skid to shear in half as well. I never liked the chassis tub to bulkhead design. I think its the ultimate weak spot in an otherwise stout design. I am going to try and cross brace it with some billet tie bars. Anyway, I just though I would share my accident with you guys. I'll post up some pics of the carnage tomorrow.

At this point I only need a $30 Gorillamaxx CF ESC mounting plate, Rear skid and a new set of tie rods. Not too bad I guess!
