    Tires

How long do tires usually last. Such as the dirt hawgs or dirt werks?

    Hey KSNitro,

The tires that you linked to are described as "road" tires. I just put a set of these on my NRusty:

They seem to perform well on clay, dirt, grass, and gravel. I am not certain how long they will last.

Tires will last different lengths of time depending on the tire, compound, running surface, and driving style. Off road tires will get worn out more quickly if you use them onroad. Generally asphalt will wear a tire more than dirt. And certain compounds will wear more quickly than others. Also, more aggressive driving such as hard acceleration and breaking will shorten the life of your tires. It all really depends on a lot of factors. There is no real generalization that can be made.

Yep. That about sums it up. You use Bow Ties on asphalt and they'll be bald in a matter of minutes. Use Street ties on asphalt and they'll last days. You might want to lok at Masher 2000's. They are very All-Terrain. They work well on grass as well as asphalt. Also, try not to cheap out on tires. I would say tires are one of THE MOST important factors in determining performance. Pro-Line and Imex are good tire brands. Pro-Line has lot's of high-quality "racing" tires, as well as some all terrain tires. Imex's tires have a much higher "fun-factor" though. They weren't designed for racing, they were designed for the backyard basher. Please not that Tower does not sell Imex tires. Here is the link to Imex's website: http://www.imexrc.com/

I have a set of duratrax street tracs on mine. They are a bad buy for gas powered vehicles so I would agree with not skimping on tires like I did. They just don't have the grip needed to control the NR.

Me and my buddy run stock front and Dirt Hawg rears.

EXCELLENT handling. I previously had the same setup, but with Dirt Works, and needless to say, offroad I couldn't even go straight, nor anymore than 1/4 throttle.

So you think I should keep the front stocks and switch my rears out to Mashers? The front stocks seem pretty good compared to what others say. It'll have a little give so the car will slide a little easier instead of flipping from too much traction.

Front stocks and rear Mashers would look silly. A popular choice is to run Masher 2K's in back and Moabs in front, or just Masher's all around.
