New Body no clue on how to paint??

DuraTrax Body with wing. Unfortunately the exhaust slot was already precut. So it wasn't even close to lining up. Most everything else went pretty good. Don't have a clue of how to paint tho. Here is the work in progress:

Have a look at some of the links here http://www.misbehavin-rc.com/paint-s...ies/bodies.asp on Misbehavin's web site. Lots of info in there. Cool body

just remember, paint goes on the inside, use several very thin coats, and use paints specifically made for lexan bodies.

I have met blk, red, green, and then a white. I think I got a purple to cant remember and the cans are wt work right now hahahah I also picked up some of that brush on peel off masking stuff. Have some ideas of how I wanna paint it but haven't made my mind up yet. Since with most things with paint you only get one shot to do it right so I figured I would do it some time this weekend after I can just sit and relax and think about it for a little bit.

I went back and looked it does look similar to the Exlipse.

They call it a DuraTrax Body w/Wing Clear SFGP 2

The left side window and exhaust plus mount holes had already been done before you buy it. I thought it may have just been that way in the picture but when you get it its already done. I didnt care to much for that since nothing that they cut was actually in the right spot hahahahahah I have another body to try but I wanted to give the 1st shot to this one so I can figure the paint and cutting stuff out. I have the Lotus and a Porsche one and I really dont wanna mess those up.

For everyone out there, the paint work is almost done. Not 100% sure how its gonna turn out yet. It is the 1st I have ever painted so bekind when I post it hahahahah

The brush on masking stuff is GREAT. For right now all I did was painted the hole truck with the mask and then started lineing everything out that I wanted with a sharp razor. Took a marker and wrote on the masking what color was gonna go were and then peeled off the areas that are gonna be the base color. It has worked perfect sofar. Stuff just peels right off.

Well done. Looks like you did a good job for your first time. So the liquid mask is easy to use?

I dont really know what all there is out there for masking but yes for me the liquid mask worked GREAT. I just painted the whole truck with it and then you use a sharp razor to trim the outline for what I wanted and just peeled it off. Everything on the truck paint wise was all free hand. One thing I didn't think about, being the 1st time was all the layers of paint. I used the blade to trim all the lines and things I wanted and then peeled each section off for what ever color I was gogin to paint. Welllllllllllllllll when you have about 7 coats of paint over the top of the mask you cant tell anymore the spots you already had outlined with the razor ahhahahaha The 1st outlines I peeled of with just a couple coats of paint came right off in big sections no problem. When I was close to being done tho peeling the window sections off and stuff wa a bit time consuming. The next time around I will paint the whole truck with the mask again but wont actually cut with the razor the outlines to peel off until I am actually ready to do what ever section that might be.
